What Is Endgame in Metin2?
The concept of endgame in Metin2 is broader than in many other MMORPGs. There is no single endgame activity — instead, there are multiple parallel progression paths that complement each other. A high-level Metin2 player simultaneously has dungeons to farm, the Biologist questline to complete, gear optimisation to pursue, and optional guild wars to take part in.
That is the secret behind its longevity: finishing one path leaves three more ahead of you. Metin2 is over 20 years old, and players with thousands of hours still have content they have yet to experience.
Snake Temple — The Endgame Landmark
The Snake Temple is the most iconic endgame zone in Metin2. This high-level farming area contains serpent monsters that drop some of the most sought-after items in the entire game:
- Snake Sword: One of the best swords in the game
- Snake Armour: High-quality armour for Warriors and Sura
- Snake Fan: Essential for Shaman builds
- Snake Helmet: A coveted headpiece with strong bonuses
- Snake Shield: A defensive option for tank builds
The complete snake equipment set is the goal of many long-term players and commands a considerable Yang value on the player market.
Moonlight Weapons — The Alternative Path
Alongside snake gear, Moonlight Weapons offer an alternative endgame progression route. These weapons are not farmed but crafted through a crafting system — using materials gathered from a variety of sources.
Moonlight Weapons are competitive with snake items in certain builds and represent a different progression path: instead of farming one zone, you collect a broader range of materials from various types of content.
Biologist Endgame — Permanent Stat Maximisation
The Biologist questline is endgame content in the truest sense: it runs in parallel with everything else and provides permanent stat bonuses that accumulate over months. Even once you already have the best gear in the game, completing Biologist quests consistently remains worthwhile.
The higher Biologist tiers (Lv.60+) require rare items from high-level zones — meaning Biologist progression is directly tied to dungeon farming.
Set Bonuses — Gear Optimisation as Endgame
The set bonus system adds a further layer of depth to the gear game. Certain equipment combinations activate additional bonuses that go beyond the stats of individual pieces. Working out and assembling the optimal set combination is its own long-term project for many Metin2 players.
Costumes also provide set bonuses — linking the cosmetic side of the game to gameplay optimisation.
Guild Wars — PvP as Endgame
For competitive players, guild wars provide the PvP endgame. Guilds battle for territories and prestige in regular guild wars. The three-kingdom system — Shinsoo, Chunjo, and Jinno — creates an ongoing factional conflict that gives the endgame a social and competitive dimension.
Well-equipped guilds need players with maxed-out gear from all other endgame paths — snake items, complete Biologist bonuses, and optimal class builds.
Events as an Ongoing Endgame Boost
Seasonal and recurring events continuously add new temporary objectives to the endgame. Happy Hours, Tigerghost Events, and seasonal content provide extra rewards and keep the game fresh for long-term players. Find out more in the Events Guide.
