Metin2 Events: Structure and Overview

In Metin2, in-game events are the most important driver for daily game progression. To keep track alongside current server schedules and major minigames, it's worth taking a closer look at the underlying mechanics. The MMORPG's event system is based on a clear structure: daily rotating side-events for continuous character boosts and major, thematic seasonal events that embed fixed core mechanics into the game world.

Daily Side-Events (Short-Term & Drop Events)

Side-Event: Drop Boosts

During these time windows, Metin stones and bosses worldwide drop additional items that are otherwise difficult to access. These include Green Dragon Beans (refinement of dragon alchemy), Cor Draconis (raw stones for the alchemy system) and Concentrated Reading (increases the success rate when reading skill books).

Side-Event: Power Mounts

Monsters drop special mount certificates. These can be exchanged with the stable hand for temporary mounts such as wolf, lion, moa or dragor, which provide essential defensive and offensive bonuses.

Side-Event: Mining & Ores

Ore veins spawn more frequently on selected maps. This allows for targeted farming of ores needed for the production of jewellery refinements.

Side-Event: Superstones (Superstone Event)

An extremely popular action event where a large number of Metin stones spawn simultaneously on certain maps. Players can defeat these Metins en masse to farm a maximum amount of drops and experience points in the shortest amount of time.

Side-Event: Moonlight Treasure Chests (Mondi Event)

One of the absolute highlights among the side-events. For a few hours, monsters in the relevant level range drop the coveted chests, which contain valuable consumables (such as blessing scrolls or critical fights) as well as important upgrade materials. Since they are extremely sought-after trading objects unopened in the community, they are perfect for earning Yang. On special event servers, this highlight usually takes place once a month.

The Seasonal Event Types

Unlike the daily side-events, these major, thematic updates take place on real-world holidays. They often run for several weeks, change the design of the main villages and are characterised by exclusive event mechanics and varied minigames.

Ramadan Event

Focuses on collecting blessing fruits. These are exchanged for high-class rewards such as the Siyah At mount (black horse), the Dragon Guardian set or special companions.

Easter Event

Alongside the classic Easter egg hunt with NPCs, special Easter Metin stones spawn throughout the world, containing rare magical eggs with upgrade items.

Halloween Event

The autumn highlight brings the popular Yutnori minigame into play. Players collect Yutnori leaves by defeating monsters to convert them into game sets. Through tactical moves on the Yutnori game board, valuable Yutnori trophies can then be earned, which contain high-class rewards.

Christmas Event

The winter highlight is a massive event package. In addition to festive decorations, it offers the popular in-game advent calendar with daily login rewards, the Santa and snowflake event, as well as the extremely popular Okey minigame, where trading cards for valuable chests are earned through monster drops.

Where are the Event Schedules and Information Published?

Since exact times and event types vary by server, Gameforge uses various channels to provide information:

  • In-Game (Event UI): All important details, runtimes and progress for currently active events can be viewed directly in the game via the integrated event UI (user interface).
  • The Official Forum: This is the most important starting point for planning. In the "News & Events" forum section, you'll find official announcements for all upcoming activities – whether daily side-events or major, seasonal holiday events.
  • The Official Website: Major seasonal events and cross-server updates are announced prominently in advance via the news on the Metin2 homepage.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Where can I find the exact times for the daily side-events?

The exact start and end times of side-events change regularly and rotate through. An up-to-date overview is provided by the official announcements in the Metin2 forum. Information about the currently active events can be viewed in-game via the event UI.

Are the same events available on all Metin2 servers?

No. Whilst ordinary, classic servers usually only run the standard rotation, special event servers and paid premium servers (such as the Ruby or Emerald servers) permanently offer significantly more and more rewarding side-events. There, exclusive drop boosts, permanent challenges or additional boss and Metin combat activities are often active, which don't exist on normal servers.
