What are Dungeons in Metin2?

Dungeons are instanced areas in Metin2 — this means each group enters their own private version of the dungeon. This provides fair conditions without competition from other players for bosses or loot. Dungeons typically have multiple floors or areas that must be completed one after another before the final boss appears.

The main appeal of dungeons lies in the exclusive drops: many of the best equipment items in the game can only be obtained in dungeons. Dungeons also offer considerable experience points and valuable materials for the crafting system. If you want to truly progress in Metin2, you cannot avoid dungeons.

Dungeon Details

Cavern of Banishment – Entry into the Dungeon World

The Cavern of Banishment is accessible from Level 75 and is one of the first dungeons players can explore. It is well-suited for newcomers to dungeon mechanics. The drops are helpful for players aged 75+ but become less relevant as the game progresses. Note: The Cavern of Banishment is not a classic instanced dungeon, but an open area with dungeon character.

Demon Tower — The Solo Dungeon

The Demon Tower is the only major solo dungeon in Metin2. It consists of several floors that must be completed one after another. Each floor presents new challenges, and completion requires good equipment and knowledge of the enemies. The Demon Tower is ideal for practising dungeon mechanics before venturing into group dungeons. Not to be confused with the Sung Mahi Hell Tower, which is a separate area.

Spider Cave and Monkey Dungeon — Early Group Instances

The Spider Cave and Monkey Dungeon are among the earlier group instances in Metin2. They provide a good introduction to group gameplay and provide useful drops for players in the levelling phase.

Zodiac Temple and Razador — Mid-Game Endgame

The Zodiac Temple (from Level 75) and Razador (from Level 85) mark the transition into endgame. Both dungeons require coordinated groups and offer valuable rewards for well-equipped teams.

The Devil's Catacomb

The Devil's Catacomb is a multi-level instanced dungeon that requires a group of at least two players. The group fights their way through various levels full of monsters, puzzles and bosses. The primary objective of the dungeon is to successfully complete all levels within a time limit of 1 hour.

Palace of the Dragon King

The Palace of the Dragon King is a large-scale guild dungeon, whose entry is exclusively reserved for organised guild groups. The dungeon has several different versions that feature an escalating difficulty level. The sequence of each instance follows a fixed structure: the group first fights through successive monster waves before the final battle against the respective Dragon King takes place at the end.

The Enigma Temple

The Enigma Temple is a specialised dungeon that cannot be entered via regular access routes. Specific treasure scrolls obtained as loot from boss monsters are required for entry. The instance is compact, designed for quick runs and highly reward-oriented, but no experience points (EXP) are awarded within the dungeon. The Enigma Temple can be completed either solo or in a group, with the amount of final reward scaling directly with the number of participating players.

Ship Defence (Hydra) and Meley's Hoard — For Advanced Players

Ship Defence, also known as the Hydra Event, is accessible from Level 90 and requires an experienced group. Also available from Level 90 is Meley's Hoard — Meley, the dragon boss, is considered one of the most demanding regular dungeon bosses. Valuable dragon items reward the effort.

Jotun (Erebos) — High-Level Endgame

Jotun, also known as Erebos, is accessible from Level 95 and ranks among the hard endgame dungeons. The boss requires a well-coordinated and equipped group. The rewards are among the strongest in the game.

Nemere Dungeon — Ice and Frost

Nemere is accessible from Level 100 and is an ice dungeon with thematically appropriate frost enemies. The final boss Nemere uses powerful frost attacks. Frost resistance on equipment is important for this dungeon. Strong drops for Level 100+ players make it attractive.

Balathor's Crypt

Balathor's Crypt is a challenging guild dungeon, whose entry is exclusively reserved for organised guild groups. The instance requires a high degree of tactical approach and is divided into several successive phases. During the course of the dungeon, players must master coordinated mechanics that include fighting monsters, destroying ice walls and dealing with specific space challenges.

General Dungeon Tips

  • Prepare your group: Discuss roles (tank, healer, DPS) before entering the dungeon
  • Activate buffs: Activate shaman buffs and other enhancements before combat
  • Bring a healer: A shaman as healer is almost indispensable in higher dungeons
  • Check resistances: Some dungeons (such as Nemere) require specific resistances on your equipment
  • Pack potions: Always carry HP and MP potions
  • Communication: Coordination in the group is the key to success

Entry Restrictions and Planning

Most dungeons in Metin2 have daily or weekly access restrictions. This means you cannot make unlimited dungeon runs. Plan your runs strategically: prioritise the dungeons that offer the most valuable drops for your current progress. Coordinate with your group to avoid wasting entries.
