Vampires Against Werewolves — the Classic Duel
The tension between vampires and werewolves is one of the most enduring motifs of dark fantasy. Two supernatural factions that have waged war for centuries: elegant, magically gifted bloodsuckers on one side, raw, instinct-driven shapeshifters on the other. Which side is stronger depends on the player, strategy and perseverance.
Gameforge offers two ways into this fantasy: BiteFight as the dedicated vampire-vs.-werewolf browser role-playing game, and Metin2 as a full-featured action MMORPG with the Lycan class — the playable werewolf archetype in a dark fantasy setting.
BiteFight — Vampire or Werewolf, You Decide
The Concept
BiteFight is the browser game that most directly brings the vampire-vs.-werewolf premise to life. You create a character, choose your faction — vampires or werewolves — and fight your way through a dark world full of rivals, hunts and power struggles. The decision is permanent: anyone who wants to switch sides loses their progress. This creates genuine loyalty and a sense of belonging.
The game concept is accessible: short sessions for hunts and battles, long-term character development over weeks and months. Arena-style PvP battles against other players determine your rank. Those who want to advance optimise equipment, abilities and strategy.
Vampire Side: Dark Magic and Elegance
Vampires in BiteFight harness the power of the night and dark supernatural abilities. Their playstyle is precise and strategic — manipulation, blood magic and mental strength against physical force. The vampire community is one of the most loyal in the browser game genre.
Werewolf Side: Strength and Animal Instinct
Werewolves rely on raw physical power. Their abilities emphasise melee strength and endurance. Those who prefer to fight with brawn rather than magic belong with the werewolves. In the endgame, intense clan rivalries develop between the two factions.
Clan System and Community
BiteFight has a clan system that enables collective goals and joint battles. Clans from the same faction coordinate attacks on enemy clans, protect members and share resources. The community has been stable and active for years.
Metin2 — the Lycan, Metin2's Playable Werewolf
The Lycan Class
Metin2 is an action MMORPG — not a vampire-werewolf game. But among the five playable classes, the Lycan is the closest equivalent to a werewolf. The Lycan is a shapeshifter warrior: he transforms during combat and uses bestial strength and claw attacks as his primary weapon. The newest class in the game, introduced to expand the roster.
Anyone who wants to play a werewolf in the context of a full-featured MMORPG — with dungeons, guild wars, quests, equipment progression and all the depth of a 20-year-old game — is well served by the Metin2 Lycan. BiteFight is the theme-focused game. Metin2 offers the more extensive gameplay experience.
The Dark World of Metin2
Even beyond the Lycan, Metin2 is dark fantasy: Metin stones fall from the sky and corrupt the world, demons emerge, three kingdoms fight for survival. Dungeon bosses such as Nemere (ice demon), Meley (dragon) or the Hydra embody supernatural threats. The Sura class fights with sinister magic. The atmosphere strikes the same chord as the vampire-werewolf genre.

Which Game Suits You?
Do you want to explicitly play as a vampire or werewolf, directly in the browser without a download? Then BiteFight is the clear choice. The game revolves entirely around this faction dynamic.
Do you want a full-featured MMORPG with a werewolf class, dungeons, guilds and a deep progression system? Then start with Metin2 and the Lycan. The gameplay is considerably more extensive.
Why not both? BiteFight for short asynchronous sessions, Metin2 for more intensive MMORPG evenings. Both free to play, both without a subscription.
