Guild Wars in Metin2: The Three-Kingdom System
The centrepiece of Metin2's PvP structure is the three-kingdom system. When creating your character you choose one of three kingdoms: Shinsoo (Red), Chunjo (Yellow) or Jinno (Blue). This choice is permanent and determines who your allies are — and who you fight against.
In the game world, each player's kingdom colour is clearly visible. Players from rival kingdoms are automatically potential PvP targets within combat zones. This creates a constant undercurrent of tension and turns every farming session into a potential PvP encounter.
The Formal Guild War System
How a Guild War Is Declared
Guild leaders can formally challenge other guilds to war. Both guilds must agree before hostilities begin. Once active, all members of both guilds are attackable by one another anywhere in the game — not just in designated combat zones. This raises the stakes considerably.
Victory Conditions and Guild Rankings
During a guild war, guilds earn points by killing members of the opposing guild. The guild with the most points when time runs out wins. Results feed into the guild leaderboard — a publicly visible prestige system that is fiercely contested on many servers.
Guild Levels and Bonuses
Guilds level up through activity and guild points. Higher guild levels unlock bonuses: additional member slots, guild skills and storage upgrades. Building a strong guild is a long-term objective that demands coordination and regular participation.
Open Kingdom PvP vs. Formal Guild War
| Type | Requirement | Where? | Intensity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Open Kingdom PvP | Enemy kingdom | Combat zones | Medium |
| Formal Guild War | Mutual agreement | Everywhere in the game | High |
| Inter-server PvP Events | Event registration | Special zones | Very high |
Which Classes Shine in Guild Wars?
Guild wars are mass battles — so classes with group-wide effects are particularly valuable. The Shaman is indispensable in guild warfare: buffs for allies and debuffs for enemies can tip the balance of power. Warriors in the tank role hold the front line, while Ninja and Sura act as damage dealers. Lycan is a wild card for unexpected flanking attacks.
The best guilds deliberately combine all classes — not by picking the strongest solo classes, but by fielding the best team composition. This makes guild wars a strategic experience that goes far beyond individual skill.
