Weapon Types by Class

In Metin2, your choice of weapon is closely tied to your class. Every class has one or two specialised weapon types that complement their abilities perfectly. A weapon from the wrong category simply cannot be equipped — the system ensures a clear role identity for each class.

Sword — The Warrior's and Sura's Weapon

The sword is the most common and versatile weapon in Metin2. Warriors and Suras both use swords, but in very different ways. For a physical Warrior, a powerful two-handed sword is the obvious choice — it maximises direct damage output and enables heavy melee skills.

The Sura combines the sword with magical abilities. Magical Suras therefore look not only at physical attack values but also at magic attack bonuses on their sword. A well-chosen sword can make the difference between mediocre and excellent damage output.

One-handed vs. Two-handed Sword

One-handed swords allow you to equip a shield at the same time — ideal for tanks. Two-handed swords offer significantly higher damage but leave no shield slot available. The decision depends heavily on your build and the role you want to fill.

Bow — The Ninja's Ranged Weapon

The bow lets the Ninja engage enemies from a safe distance. Ranged combat can be a lifesaver — particularly in PvE content and against powerful bosses. For bow builds, critical hit chance and attack speed are the most important weapon stats.

A high critical hit rate turns the Ninja into a damage machine. Bows with built-in critical hit bonuses are therefore highly sought after and correspondingly valuable on the player market.

Dagger — Fast and Deadly

Dagger Ninjas are melee specialists with extremely high burst damage. The dagger's rapid attack sequences allow you to overwhelm enemies in a very short time — particularly effective in PvP. Daggers have lower base damage values compared to swords, but compensate with a much higher attack speed.

For dagger builds, evasion and movement speed are important secondary stats, as the melee Ninja needs to stay close to their target whilst dodging incoming attacks at the same time.

Bell — The Shaman's Unique Weapon

The bell is the exclusive weapon of the Shaman class and differs fundamentally from every other weapon in the game. It amplifies both healing spells and magic attacks, making it the cornerstone of any Shaman build. A Shaman without a good bell loses effectiveness drastically — both as a healer and as a supporter.

Shamans choose their bell based on their preferred playstyle: healing Shamans prioritise healing bonuses, whilst combat Shamans focus on high magic attack values.

Claws — The Lycan's Weapon

The Lycan is the only class that wields claws. This weapon is closely linked to the class's shapeshifting system. In werewolf form, the claws become even more powerful and unlock special abilities unavailable to any other class.

Good claws for the Lycan combine physical attack with speed bonuses — increasing both damage output and mobility in combat.

Weapon Quality and Upgrading

Weapons exist in various quality tiers and can be upgraded through the Plus system (+1 to +9 and beyond). With each Plus level, the weapon's attack value and appearance improve. Higher Plus levels require upgrade stones and carry a failure chance that can cause the weapon to drop down a level.

  • Normal Weapon: Base values with no bonuses
  • Magic Weapon: One or two additional bonuses
  • Rare Weapon: Three or more bonuses with higher base values
  • Legendary Weapon: Maximum bonuses, relevant for the endgame

Endgame Weapons: Snake Sword and Moonlight Weapons

The Snake Sword from the Snake Temple is one of the most coveted endgame swords. It offers excellent base values and can be further improved with the Plus system. Moonlight Weapons are an alternative endgame option with a different stat focus — some builds benefit more from Moonlight Weapons than from the Snake Sword.

Frequently Asked Questions About Metin2 Weapons

Which weapon does the Warrior use in Metin2?

The Warrior fights with swords. Physical Warriors prefer powerful two-handers, whilst mental Warriors pay more attention to stats such as magic attack.

What are Moonlight Weapons?

Moonlight Weapons are endgame weapons for experienced players with high stats. They are considered one of the best weapon options in the game.

Can I equip a weapon from another class?

No, Metin2 uses a strict class-weapon system. Only the designated weapon types can be equipped by a given class. This system ensures a clear role identity for every class.

How important is the Plus system for weapons?

The Plus system is essential for endgame players. Higher Plus values increase damage considerably. However, upgrading carries risks — on a failure, the weapon can drop to a lower Plus level. Plan your resources carefully.
