Introduction: The Meley Dungeon
The Meley Dungeon is one of the most demanding group instances in Metin2. The mighty dragon boss Meley awaits players at level 105 who are ready to face his devastating power. Fire, fury and centuries of draconic strength converge in this legendary endgame dungeon.
This guide covers everything you need to know: the requirements, the optimal group composition, the boss strategy and, of course, the coveted drops that Meley leaves behind.
Requirements for the Meley Dungeon
Level and Equipment
To enter the Meley Dungeon you need at least Level 105. It is strongly recommended to arrive with solid endgame equipment — weak gear will lead to a swift group wipe.
- Minimum level: 105
- High-quality weapons and armour are essential
- Bring plenty of potions (healing and mana)
- Increase fire resistance wherever possible
- Magic resistance is also very helpful
Experience and Coordination
Meley is not a dungeon for newcomers. You should already have experience with group instances and understand how your class performs in a team. Communication is crucial in the Meley Dungeon.
Meley as a Dragon Boss
Meley is an ancient dragon defined by fire and draconic power. He embodies pure destruction: enormous wings, glowing scales and breath attacks capable of wiping out entire groups. His attacks deal primarily fire and magic damage, which is why the right resistances are so important.
The dragon attacks in both melee and at range. His territory inside the dungeon is clearly defined — the path to him leads through several antechambers filled with dragon guardians that already test the group before the main boss encounter.
Dungeon Layout and the Path to the Boss
The Meley Dungeon consists of several sections the group must clear before reaching the main boss:
- Entrance Hall: Standard dragon guardians — a warm-up phase for the group
- Dragon Hoard: Stronger elite enemies, the first serious challenge
- Dragon Antechamber: Dragon guardian mini-boss, final preparation before Meley
- Meley's Chamber: The final battle against the dragon Meley himself
Clear each room carefully. Rushing pulls can overwhelm the group and drain precious resources before the main fight.
Boss Strategy: Defeating Meley
Phase 1: Standard Dragon Attacks
In the first phase Meley attacks with basic moves: clawing, biting and occasional fire bursts. The tank holds the boss in position while healers keep everyone alive. DPS classes can attack freely. This phase is still relatively manageable.
Phase 2: Fire Breath Attacks — Positioning is Everything
At around 60% health Meley enters phase 2. He begins unleashing massive fire breath attacks that deal devastating area damage in a cone in front of him. Positioning becomes critical:
- Ranged players and healers: stay behind the boss, never stand in front of his mouth
- Tank: keep the boss's mouth turned away from the group
- Melee DPS: attack from the flanks or behind
- When the AoE fire attack triggers, dodge immediately or use defensive abilities
Phase 3: Berserk Mode
Below 30% health Meley goes berserk. He attacks faster, his fire attacks gain greater range and he gains new abilities. Maximum healing and maximum DPS are required in this phase. The only viable strategy is to bring him down before the group crumbles under the pressure.
Recommended Class Composition
| Role | Class | Count |
|---|---|---|
| Tank | Warrior (Mental Force) | 1 |
| Main Healer | Shaman (Body) | 1–2 |
| Melee DPS | Sura, Warrior (Knight Spirit) | 2–3 |
| Ranged DPS | Ninja (Bow) | 1 |
A solid tank and reliable healers are the absolute foundation. Without sufficient healing the group will not survive the later phases.
