Helmets and Caps in Metin2

The head slot is an important part of your equipment in Metin2. Depending on their class, characters wear different types of headgear: Warriors favour heavy helmets with strong defence values, while Ninjas and other mobile classes wear light caps that allow freedom of movement. Shamans use headgear that complements their magical abilities.

In the endgame, the Snake Helmet takes centre stage — it is widely regarded as one of the best pieces of headgear for high-level players and is sought after accordingly. The costume system also plays a role in appearance, though it does not replace the functionality of a normal helmet.

Helmet Bonuses: What Really Matters?

The bonuses on a helmet can vary considerably. What matters most is that the stats suit your own build and class. The most common and valuable helmet bonuses are:

  • Physical Defence: Directly reduces incoming physical damage — essential for tanks
  • Maximum HP: An increased health pool for greater survivability
  • Magic Resistance: Protection against magic damage — extremely valuable in PvP
  • Magic Attack: Strengthens spells — important for Shamans and magical Suras
  • Special Bonuses: Rare helmets can offer unique bonuses such as increased experience gain or uncommon resistances

Level Progression — Helmets from Start to Endgame

Helmets are clearly tiered by level range. As your character advances, you should replace your helmet regularly:

  1. Level 1–30: Leather and cloth caps with low base values
  2. Level 30–55: Bronze and iron helmets for Warriors, improved caps for other classes
  3. Level 55–75: Steel helmets and specialist caps with dual bonuses
  4. Level 75–95: High-quality helmets from dungeon drops
  5. Level 95+: Endgame helmets, with the Snake Helmet as the top choice

The Snake Helmet — The Endgame Goal

The Snake Helmet from the Snake Temple is the aspiration of many players in the endgame. It offers very high defence stats and is available to all classes, albeit in different variants. The Snake Helmet is coveted and correspondingly rare — obtainable either through drops in the Snake Temple or via the player trade market.

An upgraded Snake Helmet (+7 or higher) is part of the standard kit for serious endgame players. The combination of Snake Helmet, Snake Sword, and Snake Armour forms a classic endgame set with excellent overall stats.

Costume Head Pieces vs. Normal Helmets

The costume system in Metin2 allows you to wear visual head pieces that change your character's appearance without affecting the functionality of your normal helmet. Costume head pieces are worn in a separate costume slot and visually overlay the normal helmet.

It is important to understand: both pieces are active simultaneously. The normal helmet provides its defensive stats, while the costume head piece can offer its own bonuses or purely visual advantages. The stats of both pieces remain fully intact — you lose nothing by wearing a costume.

Frequently Asked Questions about Metin2 Helmets
