The Cloak of the Dragon in Metin2
Among accessory items in Metin2, dragon-themed pieces occupy a special place. The Cloak of the Dragon is one of the most sought-after items in the accessory slot — not because of any single spectacular stat, but because of its well-balanced combination of defence, elemental resistances, and optional enchantment bonuses.
In the world of Metin2, dragons play a central mythological role. The three kingdoms — Shinsoo, Chunjo, and Jinno — vie for territory and power, and dragons symbolise supreme strength. Dragon equipment carries that theme into gameplay: wearing a Dragon Cloak signals that you have already ventured deep into end-game content.
Base Stats of the Cloak of the Dragon

Exact values vary depending on the server version and any balance updates. The table above reflects the typical value ranges discussed in the community. The fire resistance makes the cloak especially attractive for players taking on fire dungeons or facing fire Sura opponents in PvP.
How to Obtain the Cloak of the Dragon
Dungeon Drops
The Meley Dungeon is the most well-known source of dragon equipment. Meley is a formidable dragoness who, upon defeat, drops high-quality dragon items — including, with a bit of luck, the coveted cloak. The dungeon requires level 105 and a co-ordinated team.
World Bosses and Elite Monsters
Powerful dragon monsters in the open world can also drop the cloak, though less reliably than instanced content. Farming world bosses is time-consuming, as they have long respawn timers and are frequently contested by strong guilds.
Events
Regular Gameforge events offer dragon-themed items as rewards. The Tigerghost Event and Ruby Events in particular have previously included dragon accessories in their reward pools. It is worth checking the event calendar every day.
Player Marketplace
Players who do not want to farm indefinitely will usually find an offer on the player marketplace. Prices for the Cloak of the Dragon can vary considerably depending on the server economy. An unenchanted copy is more affordable, whereas one with top-tier bonuses represents a significant investment.
Optimal Enchantments per Class
Warrior (Mental Build)
Mental Warriors act as buffers and tanks. For them, maximum hit points and physical defence are ideal. A bonus to buff duration or mana fits well here — enabling longer buff chains to be maintained.
Warrior (Body Build)
Body Warriors want to deal damage while still staying alive. A mix of attack bonuses and solid defence makes the cloak attractive — plus fire resistance against the widely played fire Suras in PvP.
Ninja
Ninjas, whether bow or dagger, benefit most from evasion bonuses and movement speed. Since the cloak can only gain these bonuses through enchantment, investing in quality bonuses here is particularly worthwhile.
Sura and Shaman
Both classes benefit from elemental resistances, as they are frequently exposed to magical damage in PvP. Additional mana points keep skill usage going for longer.
Lycan
The Lycan as an aggressive melee fighter values attack bonuses and penetration stats. The cloak offers less here than a more offensive alternative, but the hit points and resistances still make it a solid choice for instance runs.
Cloak of the Dragon vs. Other Cloaks
In the cloak slot, the Dragon Cloak competes with other high-quality alternatives. The snake variant from the Snake Temple is the end-game benchmark for many players. Even so, the Cloak of the Dragon has clear strengths:
- vs. regular cloaks (lower tier): Clear advantage through resistances and higher base stats
- vs. Snake Cloak: The Snake Cloak is generally stronger but considerably more expensive and harder to farm
- vs. event cloaks: Depends on the event item — some event cloaks are situationally even superior
For players between level 75 and 105, the Cloak of the Dragon is the clear recommendation. After that, attention turns to Snake Temple equipment.
Upgrade Strategy
Upgrading accessories such as the cloak carries more risk than weapon upgrades. It is recommended to optimise the bonuses first, then begin upgrading carefully. Use upgrade protection items from +6 onwards. A +7 or +8 Cloak of the Dragon with strong bonuses is a solid long-term item that remains relevant across several level phases.
