Belts in Metin2 — underestimated power
Many players focus their gear optimisation on weapon, armour and helmet — and overlook the belt in the process. That's a mistake. A good belt with a socketed Dragon Stone can deliver bonuses that outshine several armour slots combined. Especially in the mid-game, a well-chosen belt is one of the most efficient ways to strengthen your character.
The belt occupies a dedicated equipment slot and has its own base values. Depending on the belt type, one or more Dragon Stones can be socketed, applying permanent bonus values to your character.
Belt types by level
| Belt | Level | Sockets | Main Bonuses |
|---|---|---|---|
| Simple Leather Belt | 1–30 | 0 | Minor physical defence |
| Reinforced Belt | 20–45 | 1 | Defence + 1 Dragon Stone |
| Dragon Belt (Rank 1) | 40–65 | 1–2 | HP bonus + Dragon Stone slots |
| Dragon Belt (Rank 2) | 60–85 | 2 | Stronger base values + 2 sockets |
| High-Quality Belt | 80–105 | 2–3 | Multi-dimensional bonuses + full socketing |
| Endgame Belt | 105+ | 3 | Maximum stats + 3 Dragon Stone sockets |
Dragon Stone sockets — the decisive factor
The number of Dragon Stone sockets largely determines the value of a belt. A belt with three sockets can deliver enormous bonuses with the right stones. Early belts without sockets are designed for getting started and should be replaced as soon as possible.
Dragon Stones — which stones, which bonuses
Dragon Stones are gems obtained through special quests, bosses and dungeons. They can be socketed into belt slots and grant permanent bonuses. The most important stone types:
Attack stones
- Red Dragon Stone: Physical attack — ideal for Warriors and Lycan
- Purple Dragon Stone: Magical attack — for Sura and Shaman
- Yellow Dragon Stone: Critical hit chance — universally useful
Defence stones
- Blue Dragon Stone: Physical resistance — important for dungeon tanks
- Green Dragon Stone: HP bonus — strong for all classes universally
- White Dragon Stone: Magical resistance — for magically intensive content
Universal stones
- Gold Dragon Stone: Multi-dimensional bonuses — rare but very valuable
- Crystal Stone: Experience bonus — optimal for levelling
Belt strategy by class
Warrior
The Warrior benefits most from red (physical attack) or green (HP) Dragon Stones. For the Mental Warrior, green stones are particularly strong, as HP complements that build. The Body Warrior chooses between attack and survivability depending on the content.
Ninja
For the Archer Ninja, yellow stones (critical hit chance) are the first choice — critical hits synergise perfectly with ranged combat. The Dagger Ninja prefers attack stones for maximum burst.
Sura
The Weapon Sura uses purple stones (magical attack), whilst the Armour Sura prefers blue and white resistance stones.
Shaman and Lycan
The Healing Shaman relies on green HP stones and white resistance stones. The Dragon Shaman prefers purple attack stones. The Lycan is flexible — red or yellow stones depending on the build.
Farming and upgrading belts
You can obtain good belts through:
- Dungeon drops: Tigerghost, Nemere and higher dungeons drop the best belts
- Boss kills: Elite bosses are a reliable source
- Player market: Often the fastest route for specific belts you're after
- Events: Some seasonal events reward rare belts
- Plus system: Belts can also be upgraded with the Plus system
