What is the Aura System?
The Aura System in Metin2 is more than just aesthetics — although the visual aspect is certainly impressive. An aura envelops your character with a glowing energy field that displays different colours and effects depending on type and level. At the same time, each aura provides measurable character stats that strengthen your character.
The system is a good example of Metin2's design philosophy: mechanics that offer both cosmetics and gameplay depth. For beginners, auras are a nice bonus; for advanced players, they are a serious part of the character-building system.
Aura Types and Their Effects
Elemental Auras
Elemental auras are named after the game's classic elements and provide type-specific bonuses:
- Fire Aura: Increased physical and magical attack, red glow effect
- Ice Aura: Resistance against slowing effects, cold defence, blue glow effect
- Lightning Aura: Attack speed and movement speed, yellow effect
- Wind Aura: Dodge bonus, movement speed, whitish effect
- Earth Aura: Physical defence and HP, brown/golden effect
Premium Auras
Premium auras are rarer but more powerful. They combine multiple bonus types and feature particularly spectacular visual effects:
- Dragon Aura: Combination of attack, defence and resistances — orange/golden effect
- Moonlight Aura: Strong magical bonuses, silvery-white shimmer
- Demon Aura: High attack values with dark purple effect
- Holy Aura: Strong healing bonuses and resistances, radiant white effect
Event Auras
Seasonal events feature limited event auras that are only available for a restricted time. They often offer unique effects and good bonuses, but are not permanently available. If you actively participate in seasonal events, you have good chances of obtaining these special auras.
Aura Levels — From Beginner to Glowing Endgame Warrior
Aura garments can be levelled up through the use of enhancement materials. The level system goes up to Level 250, with the appearance changing every 50 levels:
| Level | Designation | Bonus Strength | Special Feature |
|---|---|---|---|
| Level 1–50 | Aura Garment Stage 1 | Low | Starter level, first appearance |
| Level 51–100 | Aura Garment Stage 2 | Moderate | Second appearance after Level 50 |
| Level 101–150 | Aura Garment Stage 3 | Good | Third appearance after Level 100 |
| Level 151–200 | Aura Garment Stage 4 | Strong | Fourth appearance after Level 150 |
| Level 201–250 | Aura Garment Stage 5 | Maximum | Fifth appearance, maximum absorption rate (25%) |
How Do You Get an Aura?
Auras are not found in normal gameplay through looting — they come from special sources:
- Seasonal Events: The most common free-to-play source for auras
- Boss Drops: Certain elite bosses can drop aura fragments
- Dungeon Rewards: As a rare bonus from high-ranking dungeons
- Player Market: Auras obtained from other players can be traded
- Crafting: Complete auras can be assembled from aura fragments through crafting
- Quest Rewards: Some aura quests grant an aura upon first completion
Aura Tips for Different Player Types
For Beginners
Don't stress about auras in the early game. Focus on your core equipment and skill development. If you get an aura through events or quests — great. If not, your character is still fully playable without an aura.
For Advanced Players
A Level 3–4 aura with bonuses matching your build is a real power spike. Actively pursue events to collect aura materials, and build up your aura level over time. A Fire Aura for an attack build or Earth Aura for a tank build makes a measurable difference.
For Endgame Players
Legendary auras at Level 5 are the standard among top players. Premium auras like the Dragon Aura or Moonlight Aura offer the strongest combination bonuses. Farming and upgrading these auras is standalone long-term content.
