The Auction House in Metin2
The Auction House — known in Turkish as Müzayede — is the central trading system in Metin2. Here sellers and buyers from across all server players meet in a shared marketplace. Unlike direct player trading via a shop stand, the Auction House allows you to comfortably bid on items even when you're not logged in yourself.
The Auction House is particularly important for players who want to acquire rare items without hours of farming — or who are looking for a reliable outlet for their farming activities. Anyone who masters the mechanics of the Auction House gains a genuine economic advantage in Metin2.
How the Auction House Works
Listing Items (Selling)
To sell an item, open the Auction House interface (via the Müzayede NPC or hotkey) and drag the desired item into the listing window. You set a starting price, an optional buy-it-now price and the auction duration (1, 6, 12 or 24 hours).
Note: a small listing fee is deducted from your Yang regardless of whether the item sells. Don't set your starting price too low, and always check the current market price of comparable items before you list.
Buying Items (Bidding)
In the Auction House you can see all currently listed items — filterable by type, level range and quality. You can bid on an item or, if available, use the buy-it-now price. If you are outbid, your Yang is automatically returned to you.
Most Valuable Items in the Auction House
| Item Category | Why Valuable | Yang Price Range (approx.) |
|---|---|---|
| Endgame weapons (+8 or higher) | Difficult to upgrade, high damage | Very high (server-dependent) |
| Exclusive Shop Costumes | Only available via Item Shop, limited supply | High to very high |
| Dungeon Tickets (Hard) | Limited farmability, high demand | Medium to high |
| High-tier Metin Stones (Tier 7–9) | Strong bonuses, difficult to farm | High |
| Upgrade Protection Stones | Essential for +9 upgrades | Medium |
Earning Yang with the Auction House
For many players the Auction House is the primary source of income alongside direct farming. The best strategy for free-to-play players:
Farm and Sell
Identify sought-after items that you can farm efficiently. Upgrade stones, dungeon materials and high-tier Metin Stones have a constant demand on almost every server. Farm these items and sell them in the Auction House instead of using them — until you've saved enough Yang for a larger investment.
Market Arbitrage
Watch for price fluctuations. At peak times (weekends, after events) prices often drop because more players are selling. On weekdays and during the early morning hours, buyers often pay more. Buy cheap and sell dear, and you can achieve substantial Yang profits.
Timing Event Items
Right at the start of an event, event items are cheap because everyone is farming them. A week after the event ends they become scarce and expensive. Buy event items cheaply at the start, hold onto them and sell towards the end of the event or after it concludes.
Tips for Beginners in the Auction House
- Always check the current market price before buying — overpriced listings are common
- Only use the buy-it-now option if you need the item immediately or the price is fair
- List desirable items during peak play times (evenings, weekends) for more bidders and higher prices
- Never sell items below their value just because you need Yang — farm Yang directly if you urgently need funds
