What Is the Apprentice Chest?
The Apprentice Chest (also known as the Recruit Chest) is a special reward box awarded as part of Metin2's apprentice system. The system is designed to give new players a strong start and to reward experienced players for bringing friends into the game.
The concept is simple: an existing player (Mentor) invites a friend (Apprentice). Once the Apprentice reaches certain milestones — such as Level 30, Level 50 or completing their first dungeon — both players receive rewards in the form of chests, items and bonuses.
The Mentor–Apprentice System
Metin2 has a dedicated recruitment system that works via special links or codes. As a Mentor, you create an invitation link and share it with friends. Once the invited player links their new account to your referral, the apprentice relationship begins.
Milestones and Rewards
| Apprentice Milestone | Reward for Apprentice | Reward for Mentor |
|---|---|---|
| Level 20 reached | Starter equipment package | Small Apprentice Chest |
| Level 40 reached | Experience Ring (7 days) | Medium Apprentice Chest |
| First dungeon completed | Dungeon starter pack | Large Apprentice Chest |
| Level 60 reached | Upgrade material package | Premium Apprentice Chest |
Contents of the Apprentice Chests
Apprentice Chests are tailored specifically to beginners — the contents make getting started considerably easier and help new players overcome the initial learning curve.
Typical Contents
- Yang Packages: In-game currency for your first purchases and upgrades
- Experience Rings: Double the experience you earn for a limited time — ideal for fast levelling
- Upgrade Materials: Blacksmithing and enhancement stones for your first pieces of equipment
- Consumables: Health potions, mana potions and teleport scrolls
- Starter Costume: A basic costume for a fresh look right from the beginning
- Dungeon Tickets: Access to beginner dungeons such as the Grotto of Exile
Tips for New Players
As an Apprentice, use the consumables you receive wisely. Experience Rings are most valuable when you're actively playing and fighting monsters — don't activate them if you're only logging in briefly.
The Yang packages are best spent on your first significant upgrade rather than small purchases scattered across your first few hours. Save up for a solid armour set for your current level bracket.
As a Mentor: Getting the Most Out of the System
As a Mentor, you benefit from Apprentice Chests as long as your invited friend plays actively. The more milestones they reach, the better the chests you receive. It's worth actively guiding your friend through the early game — show them the key systems such as the Biologist Quest system and the first dungeons.
Combining with Other Bonuses
Apprentice Chests combine excellently with other new-player bonuses. Use the login bonus calendar at the same time — it awards daily rewards throughout your first 30 days. Together with the apprentice system, you'll build up a remarkable starter collection that makes getting into Metin2 considerably easier than it was a few years ago.
