Large ACS attacks can destroy fleets worth months of gameplay — or be repelled if the defence is well enough prepared. Player Classes and Their Influence on Community Dynamics

Since the major redesign, players choose one of three classes at the beginning, which permanently shapes their playstyle:

• Collector: Bonus on resource production, ideal for miners who strengthen the alliance's economic base
• General: Bonus on fleet speed and combat strength, the attacker and defender in the alliance
• Discoverer: Bonus on expeditions and phalanx range, the scout and resource gatherer

This class distribution makes alliances stronger when they are balanced. An alliance needs Collectors for the resource base, Generals for combat operations and Discoverers for strategic reconnaissance. The classes create organic roles within the community.

Regular Events Keep the Community Active

OGame offers regular events that connect the community beyond individual planets:

• Titan Clash: Cross-alliance combat event where the best alliance in the universe is determined
• Expedition Events: Better finds on expeditions, promotes the discoverer playstyle
• Resource Events: Increased production for limited time — strategically important for construction projects
• Speed Events: Fleet movements faster, tactical gameplay intensifies

Events are also community events: They give alliances shared goals and create talking points. The most active alliances coordinate specifically before events to collect maximum points.
