What Are Specialist Cards?

Specialist Cards (SP Cards) are NosTale's most unique feature and the core of its class system. Unlike other MMORPGs where you pick a class at character creation, NosTale lets you collect and switch between classes by equipping different Specialist Cards. One character can be a swordsman, a fire mage, a healer, and a martial artist — just by swapping cards.

Each Specialist Card completely transforms your character: new skills, new appearance, new playstyle. There are over 30 Specialist Cards in NosTale, and collecting them all is one of the game's most satisfying long-term goals.

How to Get Specialist Cards

Specialist Cards are obtained through gameplay — not purchased in a shop. The main methods:

• Story quests — The main questline rewards your first SP cards at key story milestones.
• Raids — Challenging group content that drops specific SP cards.
• Time-Space Dungeons — Solo or group dungeons with SP card drops.
• In-game events — Seasonal events sometimes offer SP cards as rewards.
• Trading — Buy from other players in the NosBazaar.

Base Class SP Cards

Each of NosTale's three base classes (Swordsman, Archer, Mage) has dedicated SP cards. Here are some of the most important ones:

Swordsman SP Cards

• Warrior — Classic melee DPS with powerful sword skills. Good all-around choice.
• Blade — Fast dual-wielding attacker. High burst damage.
• Berserker — Tank with high HP and defense. Group content essential.
• Gladiator — PvP-focused with crowd control abilities.

Archer SP Cards

• Ranger — Long-range DPS with bow skills. Safe and consistent damage.
• Assassin — Close-range burst damage with crossbow. High risk, high reward.
• Destroyer — AoE specialist. Excellent for farming large groups.
• Wild Keeper — Pet-focused class that buffs companions.

Mage SP Cards

• Red Mage — Fire-based damage dealer. High AoE damage.
• Holy Mage — Healer and support. Essential for group content.
• Blue Mage — Ice-based crowd control. Strong in PvP.

SP Card Upgrading

SP cards can be upgraded to increase their stats and unlock more powerful skill versions. The upgrade system uses:

• SP Points — Earned by using the SP card in combat. The more you play, the stronger it gets.
• Soul Gems — Used to upgrade SP cards to higher levels.
• Perfect SP System — Allows fine-tuning specific stats on your SP card.

Upgrading SP cards is a long-term investment. Focus on your main SP card first before branching out.

Tips for New Players

• Don't spread too thin — Focus on 1-2 SP cards initially. You can always collect more later.
• Match SP to content — Use DPS cards for farming, support cards for group dungeons, PvP cards for arena.
• Join a family — NosTale's guild system. Families help you get SP cards through raids and dungeons.

NosTale in 2026

NosTale continues to receive major updates. Act 10 introduced new endgame content, the NosFire Event Server offers boosted leveling and extra drops, and the game celebrated its 18th anniversary in 2024 with the NosVersary Server. The Specialist Card system remains the heart of NosTale — and new cards are still being added with updates.
