Skills in Metin2 are special abilities that define your character from Level 5 onwards. With the quest "Training," you select a specialisation and receive your first four skill points. After that, you gain one additional point with every level. Each of the five classes has two specialisations with six special skills each – distributing these points correctly is crucial to your playstyle.
What are Skills in Metin2?
Skills are special abilities of your character that consume mana and have a cooldown after use. The higher the skill level, the stronger the effect. Certain items can further enhance the effect.
Once you've assigned at least one point to a skill, you can drag it to the quick access bar at the bottom of your screen and activate it using keys 1–4 or F1–F4. Alternatively, right-clicking the skill works directly. Some skills can also be bound to left or right mouse button.
Skill Points: How to Earn Them
The system is simple and linear:
- Level 5: Complete the quest "Training" → 4 skill points at once
- From Level 6+: Each additional level = 1 extra skill point
- Points are displayed in the skills window and can be allocated there
The points apply only to class-specific skills of your chosen specialisation. Counter and boost skills are unlocked separately once a counter skill has been mastered.
Warrior Class Skills: Both Specialisations at a Glance
The Warrior is the most popular class in Metin2 and has two very different specialisations: Body Warrior (offensive) and Mental Warrior (defensive). Here are all skills for both specialisations:
| Specialisation | Skill | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Body Warrior | Sword Aura | Attack value increases depending on level and STR allocation |
| Body Warrior | Battle Frenzy | Movement and attack speed increase; defence decreases at master tier |
| Body Warrior | Triple Slash | Triple strike with weapon in rapid succession |
| Body Warrior | Sword Whirlwind | Whirls weapon and creates strong area damage |
| Body Warrior | Rush | Stun attack; movement speed briefly increased dramatically; also deals damage |
| Body Warrior | Life Will | Frontal attack |
| Body Warrior | Earthquake | Frontal attack |
| Mental Warrior | Strong Body | Defence increases, movement speed decreases; no knockback at master tier |
| Mental Warrior | Sword Strike | Stun with area damage |
| Mental Warrior | Stomp | Stun chance with area damage |
| Mental Warrior | Piercing Strike | Area damage |
| Mental Warrior | Brutal Strike | Area damage |
The Skills Window Explained
The skills window is your control centre for all abilities. It is organised into the following areas:
- Skills: Displays class skills and horse skills separately
- Skill Points: Shows your available points for allocation
- Specialisation-Specific Skills: The six skills of your chosen specialisation
- Counter and Boost Skills: Unlocked after a counter skill has been mastered
- Combo: Extends the attack sequence by up to two strikes
- Languages: From master tier M1 onwards, you understand players of the respective realm
- Other Skills and Riding (current horse level)
Skill Books: Level Skills Faster
Besides directly allocating skill points, you can use skill books to level skills. Important rule: You can read all skill books on a 24-hour cycle. Depending on elapsed time, different messages appear telling you how long you must wait.
To bypass the waiting time, you can use an Exorcism Scroll. This allows you to read immediately again without waiting for the mandatory cooldown.
Reset Skills: Costs & When It's Worthwhile
You can reset your skills up to and including Level 30 at the old woman for Yang. You get all skill points back – but lose the master tiers M2 to M10 gained through skill books as well as any grand master tiers.
When Should You Reset?
- You want to try or switch to a different specialisation
- You are over-skilled: This means you have allocated more than 17 points to a single skill. A skill should automatically advance to master tier at 17 points – if this doesn't happen, speak with the old woman or use a skill reset item
Skill Reset Costs
| Level | Cost (Yang) |
|---|---|
| 5 | 20,000 Yang |
| 6 | 22,000 Yang |
| 7 | 24,000 Yang |
| 10 | 30,000 Yang |
| 20 | 50,000 Yang |
| 30 | 70,000 Yang |
Base price: 20,000 Yang from Level 5, increases by 2,000 Yang per level.
Skill Reset Document (Item)
Alternatively to the old woman, there is the Skill Reset Document item. It is known under various names in different languages such as "Parchemin d'oubli des compétences" (FR), "Zwój Cofania Umiejętności" (PL), or "Beceri Sıfırlama Kağıdı" (TR). This item can be helpful if resetting at the old woman doesn't correctly advance the skill to master tier.
Tips for Optimal Skill Distribution
- Never allocate more than 17 points to a single skill before it advances to master tier – otherwise you'll be over-skilled
- Use skill books in parallel on a 24-hour cycle to save points
- Before committing to a specialisation: Test skills at low levels while resets are still cheap
- Master counter skills to unlock boost skills – these can be decisive for your build
- Only use Exorcism Scrolls if you're actively farming and the waiting time really bothers you – they're a scarce resource item
