TL;DR: The Zodiac Temple is a group dungeon with 40 floors and 12 instances. Accessible from Level 20, final boss on Floor 34, Zodiac Merchant on Floor 40.

The Zodiac Temple is a group dungeon in Metin2 that has been in the game since version 17.5. It consists of 40 floors, twelve different instances, and a final boss on Floor 34. Access is possible from Level 20 and requires 12 Essence Spheres per player. Anyone who completes all 40 floors will meet the Zodiac Merchant, where Insignias can be purchased for Yang.

What is the Zodiac Temple?

The Zodiac Temple was introduced with game version 17.5 and is one of the more complex dungeon systems in Metin2. The special feature: there are twelve different instances, each representing a Chinese animal deity. Not all instances are open daily – two different instances are available each day. The exception is Sunday: on this day all twelve instances can be entered.

Within an instance, the group progresses through 40 consecutive floors. With each floor, difficulty and monster level increase. Each floor has exactly ten minutes of time. Those who move too slowly or die too often risk being ejected from the dungeon.

Access and Prerequisites

Entry to the Zodiac Temple is possible from Level 20. This may sound low, but the dungeon is clearly designed for groups – solo players will face considerable difficulties, especially on the higher floors.

Zodiac Temple Access Requirements
Requirement Details
Minimum Level Level 20
Entry Material (Standard) 12 Essence Spheres per player
Alternative Special item for 3 hours access without Essence Spheres
Start Dungeon Party leader clicks the portal
Route to Dungeon Via teleporter
Recommended Playstyle Group (not Solo)

Each player in the group must individually bring the 12 Essence Spheres. As an alternative, there is a special item that allows access for three hours without Essence Spheres. The dungeon itself is always started by the party leader by clicking the portal.

The 40 Floors – Structure and Time Limit

The Zodiac Temple is divided into 40 floors. Each floor has a time limit of ten minutes. If you don't complete the floor within this time, you risk losing progress. The difficulty increases with each floor: monsters become stronger and enemy level increases continuously.

Two floors are particularly important:

So if you want to get the most out of the Zodiac Temple, you need to successfully complete all 40 floors.

Death and Consequences

If a player dies in the Zodiac Temple, they need Prisms to revive. The special part: the number of required Prisms increases with each further death. Those who die frequently pay increasingly more to stay in the dungeon.

It becomes critical when all players in the group are dead at the same time. In this case, a countdown of one minute begins. If nobody manages to revive in that time, the entire group is teleported out of the dungeon. This means the run ends prematurely. Prisms and Essence Spheres should therefore always be sufficiently available before starting the dungeon.

Instances and Daily Schedule

The twelve instances of the Zodiac Temple are named after Chinese animal deities. On regular weekdays (Monday to Saturday), two instances are open each day. On Sunday, all twelve instances can be entered – Sunday is thus the best day for players who want to complete as many different instances as possible.

Since the available instances change daily, it's worth keeping an eye on the current daily schedule. For certain Insignias, it can be relevant which instance is currently open.

Insignias – Rewards and Trading

Insignias are the central rewards of the Zodiac Temple. After successfully completing a floor, there is a chance to receive Insignias as a reward. Important: the number of possible Insignias increases with each completed floor. So if you make it through to Floor 40, you can collect significantly more Insignias than someone who only completes the first few floors.

Insignias Overview in the Zodiac Temple
Insignia Type Number of Available Variants Exchangeable With
Guardian Insignias 12 Monk Milbon
Zodiac Insignias 10 Monk Milbon

In total, there are twelve Guardian Insignias and ten Zodiac Insignias. All Insignias can be exchanged with Monk Milbon for other items. If you don't want to farm all Insignias in the dungeon, you can also buy them directly from the Zodiac Merchant on Floor 40 for Yang.

An important note on handling Insignias: they are neither tradeable, nor can they be stored in warehouse or dropped. Transfer to other players is not possible. However, they can be sold to the General Merchant if you want to get rid of surplus copies.
