Metin2 Treasure Island: Event Guide & Tips

What is Treasure Island?

Treasure Island is a time-limited event in Metin2 that was introduced in version 23.3.5 and first ran in November 2023. Players from level 70 can participate. The event consists of two separate parts: the Escort and the Treasure Hunt. It's important to note: all event items disappear automatically once the event ends – unused items are lost.

Prerequisites & Access

To enter Treasure Island, you need a Treasure Ticket. This can be collected from various sources in-game during the active event. The minimum level of 70 ensures that characters are sufficiently equipped to effectively protect the Treasure Goblin. If you collect the ticket in time, you can tackle both event phases.

Phase 1: The Escort

The Escort is the first and more action-packed part of the event. You accompany the Treasure Goblin on his route across Treasure Island and protect him from attacking monsters. The phase has a maximum runtime of 30 minutes. If the Goblin dies, the mission fails.

Along the way, 3 Giant Treasure Chests appear, but only one contains the real treasure. The mission is successfully completed as soon as the correct chest is found. Each monster killed along the way brings additional rewards.

Goblin Buffs: How to Strengthen Your Companion

By talking to the Treasure Goblin, you can grant him four different buffs. These each cost specific event resources, but significantly increase the Goblin's chances of survival – particularly on higher difficulty levels.

Which buffs you prioritise depends on the current situation. In monster-dense sections, it's recommended to apply the HP Increase early. Poison Immunity is particularly valuable when many poisoning enemies appear on the route.

Escort Rewards

Rewards from the Escort phase are given in two ways:

• For each monster killed: 1x Reward Item
• For successfully completing the mission: 100x Reward Item

The clear incentive lies in completing the mission – the 100-fold reward for success far outweighs farming individual monsters. Nevertheless, it's worthwhile to defeat as many monsters as possible along the way.

Phase 2: The Treasure Hunt

The Treasure Hunt is the strategic part of the event and functions independently of the Escort. It's opened via the Event UI. The aim is to collect 9 rewards in one round without resetting the playing field.

For 90 Treasure Items, the rewards are revealed on the playing field. You can then search for treasure once for free. Each further search costs an additional stake. If you want to completely restart the playing field, that's free – but you'll then have to pay 90 Items again to reveal the field.

Optimal Strategy for the Treasure Hunt

The official wiki tip is specific: Save at least 8 search items in your inventory before you use them to complete a round. This gives you enough resources to cover the remaining fields after your free first turn without stalling mid-round. A round with 9 collected rewards is the goal – plan your searches accordingly.

Treasure Hunt Rewards and Tiers

The Treasure Hunt operates with a tier system. Rewards from a higher tier include all contents of the tiers below it. It's therefore worthwhile to work towards higher tiers, as the quality of rewards increases with each level.

Important Event Notes

• Event items expire: All collected event items disappear irrevocably once the event ends. Use them in time.
• Minimum level 70: Characters below level 70 cannot participate in Treasure Island.
• Ticket required: Without a Treasure Ticket, you cannot enter Treasure Island.
• Mission abort: Death of the Goblin means restarting the Escort – invest buffs early.
• Free reset: The Treasure Hunt can be reset for free, but revealing again costs 90 Items.

Treasure Island vs. Regular Areas: What Sets the Event Apart?

Unlike fixed areas such as normal hunting maps in Metin2, Treasure Island is only accessible during active event periods. The event combines active fighting (Escort) with a strategic mini-game (Treasure Hunt), which sets it apart from pure farming areas. Players should actively use the event window, as there is no permanent availability and all items are time-limited.
