The Whirlwind Slash is one of the core skills of the Body Warrior in Metin2. This skill makes your character whirl their weapon around and deal strong area-of-effect damage – hitting multiple enemies in the surrounding area at once. If you want to farm mobs efficiently or fight in groups as a Body Warrior, Whirlwind Slash is indispensable.
What is Whirlwind Slash?
Whirlwind Slash belongs to the skill set of the Body Warrior, one of the two teachings of the Warrior class in Metin2. While the Mental Warrior focuses on defence and crowd control, the Body Warrior concentrates on direct damage – and Whirlwind Slash is the primary tool for fighting multiple enemies at once.
According to the Wiki, this skill creates "strong area-of-effect damage" by whirling the weapon around. This makes it particularly useful in densely populated areas, when farming Metinstone dungeons, or anywhere you need to deal with multiple enemies simultaneously.
All Body Warrior Skills at a Glance
Whirlwind Slash should not be viewed in isolation – it's part of a skill set that complements each other. Here are all six Body Warrior skills at a glance:
| Skill | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Aura of the Sword | Buff | Attack power increases based on level and STR skill allocation |
| Battle Fury | Buff | Movement and attack speed increase; defence decreases at Grand Master level |
| Triple Strike | Attack | Triple strike with the weapon in rapid succession |
| Whirlwind Slash | Area Attack | Whirls the weapon around and creates strong area-of-effect damage |
| Dash | Attack / Mobility | Stun attack; movement speed increases extremely briefly, deals damage |
| Will to Live | Frontal Attack | Frontal attack |
| Earthquake | Frontal Attack | Frontal attack |
Skill System in Metin2: How Skill Points Work
Before you invest skill points in Whirlwind Slash, you should understand the basic skill system of Metin2:
- From Level 5 onwards, you choose your teaching (here: Body Warrior) and receive the first four skill points through the quest "The Training".
- With each additional level, you receive 1 additional skill point.
- Skill points are distributed among the class-specific skills.
- Skills consume mana points when used; the higher the skill level, the more mana is consumed – but the stronger the effect as well.
- After use, skills recharge. The recharge time varies depending on the skill and level.
- Skills can be added to the shortcut bar and activated with the keys 1–4 or F1–F4. Alternatively, you can right-click the skill directly.
Skill Books and the 24-Hour Cooldown
To level up Whirlwind Slash quickly, you use skill books. These can be read in parallel with all other skill books, but there is a 24-hour cooldown per book. Depending on the elapsed time, you'll receive different messages in-game explaining why reading isn't possible yet.
Want to skip the 24-hour waiting period? The Exorcism Scroll bypasses the cooldown and allows immediate reading.
The effectiveness of Whirlwind Slash can also be further improved through specific items in the game – you'll find detailed information in the Wiki under the respective item entries.
Mastering Whirlwind Slash: Master and Grand Master Levels
Skills in Metin2 have multiple upgrade tiers beyond normal levelling. Importantly: At 17 skill points on a skill, it should "jump" to the next level. If this doesn't happen, your character is considered "misspent".
- Misspent means: More than 17 skill points have been placed on a skill without the jump occurring.
- In this case, you should use a skill book or the skill reset item.
- When resetting via the Old Woman, Master levels M2 through M10 and Grand Master levels are lost.
Resetting Skills: When and How?
Have you distributed skill points incorrectly or want to switch from Body Warrior to Mental Warrior (or vice versa)? In Metin2, there are two ways to perform a skill reset:
| Level | Cost (Yang) |
|---|---|
| Level 5 | 20,000 Yang |
| Level 6 | 22,000 Yang |
| Level 10 | 30,000 Yang |
| Level 20 | 50,000 Yang |
| Level 30 | 70,000 Yang |
Important: The reset at the Old Woman is only possible up to and including Level 30. You'll get all skill points back, but lose the Master levels (M2–M10) achieved through books as well as any Grand Master levels already obtained. The cost is 20,000 Yang at Level 5 and increases by 2,000 Yang per level.
From Level 30 onwards, or for a reset without Yang costs, there's the Skill Reset item (also known as a scroll). This item allows a complete reset of skill points regardless of level.
Tips for Whirlwind Slash in the Body Warrior Build
- Invest early: As an AoE skill, Whirlwind Slash is useful from the start – especially when levelling in areas with many enemies.
- Combine with buffs: Use Aura of the Sword and Battle Fury before using Whirlwind Slash to maximise damage.
- Follow the 17-point rule: Distribute exactly 17 points to Whirlwind Slash and wait for the jump before continuing. If it doesn't jump, use the skill book.
- Keep mana in check: As the skill level increases, so do mana costs. Ensure you have sufficient mana points or appropriate items.
- Set up your shortcut bar: Place Whirlwind Slash on an easily accessible key (e.g. 2 or 3) for quick activation in combat.
- Use the Exorcism Scroll: When intensively levelling Whirlwind Slash, the Exorcism Scroll saves you lots of time by bypassing the 24-hour book cooldown.

Misspent means you've distributed more than 17 skill points to a skill without it jumping to the next level. A visit to the Old Woman (up to Level 30) or using a Skill Reset item helps. Keep in mind: Master levels M2–M10 are lost in the process.
