What is the Shadow Belt?
The Shadow Belt is a high-level belt in Metin2. It requires level 103 and belongs to the group of belts with class defence. Its fixed bonus is defence against Ninja.
Like other belts, the Shadow Belt offers additional slots for potions. The number of these slots depends on its upgrade level. The higher the belt is upgraded, the more potion slots are available.

Crafting the Shadow Belt
The Shadow Belt is crafted by Jae-Seon Kim. Crafting requires 10x Ruby, 2x Red Pearl, 5x Gold Hook, 10x Iron Flame Stone and 40,000 Yang. Crafting can fail.
Crafting is to be distinguished from later upgrading the belt. Crafting creates the belt. Upgrading increases its level and thus its usable properties.
Upgrading the Shadow Belt
The Shadow Belt can be upgraded from +0 to +9. With higher levels, the number of additional potion slots increases. At +9, the Shadow Belt reaches up to 16 additional slots.
Three systems should be distinguished here:
- upgrading the belt from +0 to +9,
- the potion slots unlocked by this,
- enhancing the belt bonus via sockets and Red Flame Stones.
These systems belong to the same item but do not function identically.
Sockets on the Shadow Belt
The Shadow Belt can receive up to three sockets. The sockets are unlocked with Diamonds. Red Flame Stones can be inserted into unlocked sockets.
Red Flame Stones enhance the basic bonus of the belt. For the Shadow Belt, this affects defence against Ninja. Bonuses from multiple sockets are added together.
How does the Belt System work in Metin2?
Belts are equipment items with their own equipment slot. Their most important use is the additional belt inventory for potions. In addition, each belt has its own bonus.
The first belts start at level 50. Later belts require higher levels and offer different bonus types or more potion slots. This means belts differ not only by their level but also by their purpose.

The level 103 belts form their own group. They have the same level requirement and reach up to 16 additional potion slots, but differ through their respective class defence.
The Shadow Belt belongs to this group and is oriented towards defence against Ninja.
Potion Slots through Belts
Belts unlock additional slots for potions. The maximum number depends on the respective belt and its upgrade level.
Lower belts reach fewer slots. Level 103 belts such as the Shadow Belt reach up to 16 additional potion slots. The Titan Belt is an exception and can reach up to 30 additional potion slots.
Sockets, Diamond and Red Flame Stone
Belts can receive up to three sockets. These sockets are unlocked with Diamonds. After that, matching stones can be inserted to enhance the basic bonus of the belt.
The Red Flame Stone enhances the respective belt bonus. For the Shadow Belt, this is defence against Ninja. For the Belt of Wisdom, it affects the EXP bonus, for the Soul Belt the bonus Strong against Monsters, and for other belts accordingly their own bonus.
Sockets and Red Flame Stones are not part of the normal upgrade from +0 to +9. They are a separate system for bonus enhancement.
