TL;DR: The Enigma Temple is a dungeon accessible only via treasure scrolls – no EXP is awarded. Complete all levels including the bonus room to earn valuable rewards.

The Enigma Temple is an instanced dungeon in Metin2 that you can enter exclusively with a treasure scroll. Important note: No experience (EXP) is awarded in this dungeon. The goal is pure loot farming. The dungeon can be completed solo or in a group – the more players involved, the higher the rewards.

Access: Obtaining and Using Treasure Scrolls

Without a treasure scroll, you cannot enter the Enigma Temple. Scrolls drop from bosses in your character's level range, scaling automatically with your progression. There are three different treasure scrolls with two quality variants:

Only the group leader uses the treasure scroll to open the dungeon. All other group members follow through the portal.

Treasure Scroll Overview: Types and Properties
Text Colour Type Special Feature
Green Standard Treasure Scroll Standard access to the Enigma Temple
Blue Rare Treasure Scroll Increased chance to access the bonus room

Entering the Dungeon: Timing and Rules

After activating the treasure scroll, a short wait time begins. The following applies when entering:

This escape mechanic is important: It is not worthwhile to give up during combat if the run is still salvageable – spending 3 minutes on the ground takes longer than a second attempt on the current level.

Level 1: Monsters, Charon and the Enigma Metinstone

The first level follows a clear sequence that the entire group works through step by step:

  1. Defeat all monsters until none spawn.
  2. Defeat Charon (Enigma) and his entourage.
  3. Destroy the Enigma Metinstone.
  4. Enter the portal to the next level.

The sequence is fixed. Charon and his companions only appear after the regular monsters on the level are defeated. Focus the boss together to keep the time short – especially in smaller groups.

Level 2: Two Trials, One Bonus Portal

Level 2 is the critical phase of the dungeon. Here there are two possible trials, one of which is randomly activated. Only one must be passed.

Trial 1 – Destroy Metinstones

Destroy metinstones in succession until you hit the correct metinstone. It is a trial-and-error principle: which stone is correct is not marked. Destroy them in order until the trial shows as complete.

Trial 2 – Defeat Enigma General

Defeat monsters until the Enigma General appears, then kill him. Warning: If the Enigma General does not appear, the entire level must be repeated. Keep track of spawn progress and defeat all enemies consistently without skipping groups.

After the Trial: Choose the Bonus Portal

Once a trial is successfully completed, an Enigma Reward appears – destroy it to obtain it. Afterwards, 4 portals open. Only one leads to the bonus room; the other three end the dungeon immediately. The choice is random – this is where the blue treasure scroll comes into play, which increases the chance of the correct portal.

Level 2: Trials Compared
Trial Task Special Feature
Trial 1 Destroy the correct metinstone among several Random correct stone, trial & error
Trial 2 Summon and defeat the Enigma General Repeat level if General does not appear

Bonus Level: 3 Minutes for Maximum Rewards

If you choose the correct portal, you enter the Enigma Temple (Bonus). This room has a strict time limit: 3 minutes to defeat as many enemies as possible. Every defeated enemy brings valuable rewards. The bonus room exists in 3 different variants – which version appears is random.

Use the full 3 minutes. Maximise damage and work through enemies systematically. In a large group, this goes much faster than solo.

Rewards: What Does the Enigma Temple Offer?

Tips for Efficient Enigma Temple Runs

Frequently Asked Questions about the Enigma Temple

How do I access the Enigma Temple?

You need a treasure scroll, which drops from bosses in your character's level range. Only the group leader uses the scroll to open the dungeon.

Do I earn EXP in the Enigma Temple?

No. The Enigma Temple awards no experience by default. The dungeon is exclusively focused on item rewards.

What is the difference between a green and blue treasure scroll?

Green treasure scrolls grant standard access to the dungeon. Blue treasure scrolls additionally offer an increased chance to select the correct portal to the bonus room on Level 2.

Can I complete the Enigma Temple solo?

Yes, the dungeon is playable solo. However, rewards increase with more group members. A group is worthwhile in most cases.

What happens if I enter the wrong portal on Level 2?

You automatically exit the dungeon. Of the four available portals, only one leads to the bonus room. The blue treasure scroll increases your hit rate, but the choice remains random.

How do I exit the Enigma Temple early?

There is no normal exit. To leave the dungeon, you must lie defeated for 3 minutes. You then automatically restart in town.

What happens if the Enigma General does not appear in Trial 2?

Then the entire level must be repeated. Make sure you defeat all monsters on the level – the General only spawns when all enemies have been eliminated.

How much time do I have in the bonus room?

You have exactly 3 minutes in the Enigma Temple (Bonus) to defeat enemies. Each defeated enemy grants rewards – use the time fully.
