TL;DR: Dragonstone Alchemy in Metin2 enhances your character with bonuses through seven stone types across six classes. Improvement via class, purity and level.

Dragonstone Alchemy is a central enhancement system in Metin2: Dragonstones provide your character with various bonuses that you can further expand through three independent tiers – class, purity and level. The system was introduced with version 13.3 on 26 February 2013, expanded with version 19.0 on 22 January 2019 to include Mythical Alchemy, and received the Dragon Amethyst as a new stone type with version 23.2 on 26 July 2023. From level 30 onwards, you can actively farm dragonstones via a daily quest.

What is Dragonstone Alchemy?

Dragonstone Alchemy is the gemstone enhancement system of Metin2. Dragonstones are displayed exclusively in the separate Dragonstone Inventory – not in the normal inventory. You open the Dragonstone Inventory via the corresponding button in your inventory, via the chat bar or via a dedicated hotkey.

Each dragonstone provides certain bonuses, whose quantity and strength are determined by the chosen enhancement tiers. Higher classes mean more bonuses, higher purity and level mean stronger bonuses.

The seven dragonstone types at a glance

There are seven different types of dragonstones, which differ visually through their colour and in terms of their effect. Each colour has its own focus on certain character attributes.

Dragonstone types in Metin2
Stone Colour Added
Ruby Red Version 13.3 (Feb 2013)
Sapphire Blue Version 13.3 (Feb 2013)
Jade Green Version 13.3 (Feb 2013)
Diamond White/Clear Version 13.3 (Feb 2013)
Onyx Black Version 13.3 (Feb 2013)
Garnet Dark Red Version 13.3 (Feb 2013)
Amethyst Purple Version 23.2 (Jul 2023)

Important: Each stone type affects different character values. Therefore, choose the stone type deliberately based on your character's build.

The three enhancement tiers: Class, Purity and Level

The heart of the system comprises three independent tiers on which each dragonstone can be enhanced. All three together determine how strong a stone ultimately is.

Class

The class determines how many bonuses a dragonstone can have simultaneously. The higher the class, the more different bonuses the stone carries. There are the following classes in ascending order:

Purity

The purity level determines the strength of a stone's individual bonuses. With increasing purity, all bonuses of the stone become stronger or the values increase. Purity and class are independently improvable.

Level

The effect of a dragonstone can also be increased directly through its level. Level, purity and class complement each other – a stone with high class, high purity and high level provides the maximum values.

Enhancing Dragonstones: How it works visually

The appearance of a dragonstone changes visibly with the degree of enhancement. The tables in the game show the development clearly:

You can see at a glance how far a dragonstone has been developed – this is particularly practical when trading with other players.

Where do you get dragonstones from?

Dragonstones and dragonstone fragments can be obtained in several ways in Metin2.

Daily Dragonstone Quest

From level 30 onwards, you have access to a special dragonstone quest every day. This is the most accessible and consistent way to regularly obtain dragonstones. Complete the quest daily to continuously gather material for alchemy.

Dragonstone Fragments

In addition to whole dragonstones, there are Dragonstone Fragments and Dragonstone Fragments+ as materials. These drop in various game areas and are an important resource for alchemy. Dragonstone fragments are managed in the Dragonstone Inventory, not in the normal inventory.
