TL;DR: The Dragonruby is one of six classical dragonstone types in Metin2. It progresses through six tiers (Raw to Mythical) and is further improved via purity and level.

The Dragonruby belongs to the dragonstone alchemy system in Metin2, which was introduced with version 13.3 on 26 February 2013. It is one of six classical dragonstone colours – alongside Onyx, Diamond, Jade, Sapphire and Garnet – and grants characters specific bonuses. These bonuses become stronger the higher the tier, purity and level of the stone are. If you want to optimise your character long-term, you cannot get around dragonstone alchemy.

What is dragonstone alchemy in Metin2?

Dragonstone alchemy is a standalone enhancement system that works independently of normal equipment. Dragonstones appear exclusively in the dedicated dragonstone inventory – not in the regular inventory. You open the overview via the corresponding button in your inventory, via the chat bar or using a hotkey.

The system has been expanded several times since its introduction. With version 19.0 on 22 January 2019, Mythical Alchemy was added. With version 23.2 on 26 July 2023, the Dragonamethyst was also added as a new stone type, so there are currently seven different types available.

The six tiers of the Dragonruby

Every dragonstone – and thus the Dragonruby as well – progresses through six tiers. As the tier increases, the number of possible bonuses on the stone also increases. This means concretely: a stone of a higher tier can possess multiple different attributes at the same time.

Dragonruby: Tiers at a glance
Tier Name Special feature
1 Raw Dragonruby Entry level, few bonuses
2 Polished Dragonruby First upgrade, more bonus slots
3 Rare Dragonruby Mid-tier level, solid number of bonuses
4 Ancient Dragonruby High tier, broad bonus spectrum
5 Legendary Dragonruby Very high tier, strong bonuses
6 Mythical Dragonruby Maximum tier, available since version 19.0

Three enhancement levels: Tier, purity and level

The dragonstone alchemy system works with three independent enhancement levels. It is not enough to only raise the tier – for maximum effectiveness, all three levels must be considered.

Tier

The tier determines how many different bonuses a stone can carry at the same time. A Raw Dragonruby accordingly has fewer bonus slots than a Mythical one. Upgrading the Dragonruby from one tier to the next is usually the most demanding step in the alchemy process.

Purity

The purity level increases the strength of the bonuses already present. The higher the purity, the greater the numerical values of the bonuses – the type of bonuses does not change, only their effect increases. Purity is displayed horizontally, the tier vertically – the dragonstone inventory displays both dimensions clearly.

Level

The effect of a dragonstone can also be increased via its level. The level is thus another way to make already high-tier stones even more powerful. For optimal character stats, tier, purity and level should all be as high as possible.

The different dragonstone colours and their effects

There are six classical dragonstone colours as well as the Amethyst introduced with version 23.2. Each colour stands for a different bonus focus. The Dragonruby is one of several options – which colour makes the most sense for your character depends on class, build and playstyle.

Where do you get Dragonstones?

Dragonstones – including the Dragonruby – can be obtained through various methods in the game. One of the most accessible methods is the daily dragonstone quest, which is available for characters at level 30 and above. Additionally, dragonstone shards can be collected and combined to form stones. Dragonstones also enter the game through drops in various areas and player events.

If you want to work specifically on Dragonstones, you should consistently complete the daily quest. This is the most reliable free method to ensure regular supplies.

A few points help prevent wasting resources and using the system efficiently:

Frequently asked questions about Dragonruby alchemy

From what level can I start with Dragonruby alchemy?

The Dragonruby progresses through six tiers: Raw, Polished, Rare, Ancient, Legendary and Mythical. With each tier, the number of possible bonuses increases.
