Dragon's Help (German: Hilfe des Drachen) is a skill in the MMORPG Metin2. The skill system in Metin2 works fundamentally the same way for all classes: Starting at Level 5, you choose your path and receive skill points that you distribute across your class-specific abilities. Understanding how skill points, skill books and the skill reset system work together lays the foundation for any effective build.
The Skill System in Metin2 – Basics
Skills are the special abilities of your character. Each of the five classes has two separate paths, each with six unique skills. With the quest "The Training" at Level 5, you commit to one of these paths and immediately receive four skill points. From then on, you get one additional skill point for each level gained.
Skills cost mana points when used. The higher the skill level, the stronger the effect – but mana consumption also increases. After use, there is a cooldown time that varies depending on the skill.
Trained skills can be dragged onto the hotkey bar at the bottom of the screen and activated using keys 1–4 or F1–F4. Alternatively, you can right-click directly on the skill in the Skills window. Some abilities can also be bound to mouse buttons.
The Two Warrior Paths and Their Skills
In Metin2, the Warrior is divided into two specialisations: Body Warrior (offensive, attack and speed) and Mind Warrior (defensive, control and area damage). Both paths have fundamentally different playstyles.
| Body Warrior | Description | Mind Warrior | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aura of the Sword | Attack power increases variably based on level and STR allocation | Strong Body | Defence increases, movement speed decreases; no knockdown at Grand Master level |
| Battle Frenzy | Movement and attack speed increase; defence decreases at Grand Master level | Sword Slash | Stun + area damage |
| Three-Way Cut | Triple strike in quick succession | Stomp | Stun chance + area damage |
| Sword Whirlwind | Area damage through weapon spin | Breakthrough | Area damage |
| Dash | Stun attack, short speed boost + damage | Heavy Strike | Area damage |
| Will to Live | Frontal attack | – | – |
| Earthquake | Frontal attack | – | – |
Distributing Skill Points Correctly – The Critical Value 17
The most important number in the Metin2 skill system is 17. Exactly when you invest 17 skill points in a skill, it should advance to the next level (Master rank). If it doesn't, you are overskilled – meaning you've put more than 17 points into a skill without triggering the promotion.
Being overskilled is a common beginner mistake. Make sure to invest a maximum of 17 points per skill before activating the Master promotion system. Skill books can additionally support the promotion.
Skill Books – Don't Forget Daily Training
In addition to directly distributing skill points, there are skill books. These can be read on a 24-hour cycle and increase the skill level independently of manually distributed points. You can use all available skill books on this schedule in parallel.
If you wait less than 24 hours, you will receive an error message with the remaining waiting time. If you want to skip the wait, you can use an Exorcism Scroll. This is particularly useful if you want to reach a specific skill level quickly.

The Skills window shows all relevant information at a glance:

Resetting Skills – Costs and Procedure
If you've overskilled or want to try a different path, you can reset all skill points with the Old Woman up to and including Level 30 for a Yang fee. You'll get every manually set skill point back.
Attention: Skill points you gained by reaching Master levels (M2 through M10) or Grand Master levels are lost during a reset. Plan the reset carefully.
| Level | Reset Costs (Yang) |
|---|---|
| 5 | 20,000 Yang |
| 6 | 22,000 Yang |
| 10 | 30,000 Yang |
| 20 | 50,000 Yang |
| 30 | 70,000 Yang |
Costs start at 20,000 Yang at Level 5 and increase by 2,000 Yang per level. At the maximum level for this service (Level 30), the reset costs 70,000 Yang.
Tip: If a skill doesn't advance at 17 points after resetting with the Old Woman, you can try again immediately – without losing a skill point. The promotion at 17 points is not guaranteed. Alternatively, the Skill Reallocation (Skill Reset Document) item-based option can help.
