TL;DR: The Dragon Amethyst is one of seven Dragon Stone types in the Dragon Stone Alchemy system of Metin2. It was added in game version 23.2 on 26.07.2023. Like all Dragon Stones, it is improved across three levels: class, purity, and level – and grants your character various bonuses.

What is the Dragon Amethyst?

The Dragon Amethyst is one of seven Dragon Stone types in Metin2 and part of the Dragon Stone Alchemy system. The system was introduced into the game with version 13.3 on 26 February 2013. The Amethyst itself came much later: with version 23.2 on 26 July 2023, it was added as a new colour. It falls into the category of Dragon Stone Alchemy and strengthens your character with specific bonuses that vary depending on the class, purity, and level of the stone.

Dragon Stones do not appear in the normal inventory. They are displayed exclusively in the separate Dragon Stone inventory. You can open this either via the button in your inventory, via the chat bar, or using a keyboard shortcut.

The Dragon Stone Alchemy System Explained

Before you start working specifically with the Dragon Amethyst, you should understand the basic structure of the system. Dragon Stones are improved across three independent levels:

All three levels together determine how strong a Dragon Stone actually is. A stone at high class but low purity is not automatically stronger than a stone of medium class with high purity – the interplay of all three factors matters.

Classes of the Dragon Amethyst

The Dragon Amethyst – like all other Dragon Stones – goes through six classes. Each class visibly changes the appearance of the stone. The classes are:

Classes of the Dragon Amethyst at a glance
Class Designation Special Feature
1 Raw Entry class, few bonus slots
2 Cut First improvement, new appearance
3 Rare More possible bonuses
4 Antique Significantly increased bonus capacity
5 Legendary High effectiveness, strong appearance
6 Mythical Highest class, introduced with version 19.0 on 22.01.2019

The Mythical class is the strongest and was introduced with version 19.0 on 22 January 2019 – several years before the Dragon Amethyst itself. This means the Amethyst is compatible with the complete class system from the start.

The Seven Dragon Stone Types Compared

The Dragon Amethyst is one of seven types. Each colour has a different effect on your character. The known types besides the Amethyst are, according to the Wiki: Onyx, Diamond, Ruby, Jade, Sapphire and Garnet. The Dragon Amethyst was added later as a standalone addition and expands the system to a total of seven stone colours.

Where Do You Get Dragon Stones?

One of the most important questions for newcomers: where do you actually get Dragon Stones? The Wiki mentions the daily Dragon Stone quest, which is available from character level 30 onwards. This is the lowest-threshold entry into the system and is accessible to every player who has reached level 30.

Beyond that, there are other sources of Dragon Stone shards and stones that can be collected in the game. Dragon Stone shards are raw materials that are processed as part of Dragon Stone Alchemy. They carry the category Dragon Stone Alchemy and are a central part of the improvement process.
