What is Dash?
Dash is one of the six class skills of the Body Warrior in Metin2. The skill combines two effects: It increases the character's movement speed extremely for a short time and simultaneously performs a stun attack with damage effect. This makes Dash both an offensive skill and a tactical positioning tool. In both PvE and PvP, briefly stunning your target is a clear advantage.
As a Body Warrior, you select Dash from the pool of six class-specific skills of your doctrine. You set your doctrine through the quest "The Training" at level 5 – after that, the entire Body Warrior skill tree becomes available to you.
Dash in Context: The Body Warrior Skill Tree
The Body Warrior has the following seven skills in his doctrine. Dash takes on a special role because it is one of the few skills offering both stun and increased mobility:
| Skill | Primary Effect | Secondary Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Sword Aura | Attack power increases (based on level and STR) | Buff (Self) |
| Battle Frenzy | Movement & attack speed increases | Defence decreases from Master level onwards |
| Triple Slash | Three-fold strike in quick succession | Single target |
| Sword Tornado | Strong area damage | Whirlwind attack |
| Dash | Stun attack + damage | Movement speed increased extremely for a short time |
| Will to Live | Frontal attack | – |
| Earthquake | Frontal attack | – |
Skill Points: How to Train Dash
You receive skill points from level 5 onwards – the quest "The Training" gives you 4 starting points directly. From level 6 onwards, you get 1 additional point per level gained. You distribute these points via the skills window across your class skills, including Dash.
Important: As soon as you have allocated at least one point to Dash, you can drag the skill to the quick access bar (keys 1–4 or F1–F4) or trigger it directly via right-click. Some skills, including Dash, can alternatively be mapped to the left or right mouse button.
The more points you place on Dash, the stronger the effect of the skill – higher damage values, stronger or extended stun, and the mana point costs change with the skill level. Each use of the skill costs mana points (mana), after which the skill recharges. The reload time varies depending on the skill level.
Skill Books: Increase Dash Beyond Level 17
To increase Dash beyond normal skill points, skill books come into play. You can read all skill books on a 24-hour cycle. The game shows you how long you still need to wait if the cooldown is still running.
If you want to skip the waiting time, you need an Exorcism Scroll. This allows you to bypass the 24-hour cooldown and use the skill book again immediately. This is particularly useful if you want to bring Dash to maximum level quickly.
Note: From Master level (M2–M10) and Grand Master level onwards, additional effects occur. These higher levels are lost if you reset your skills via the old woman (more on this in the next section).
Reset Skills: When Dash Needs to Be Redistributed
If you have set your points incorrectly or want to change your doctrine, you can reset all skill points up to and including level 30 with the old woman in the game for a Yang fee. The costs are:
| Level | Cost (Yang) |
|---|---|
| 5 | 20,000 Yang |
| 6 | 22,000 Yang |
| 10 | 30,000 Yang |
| 20 | 50,000 Yang |
| 30 | 70,000 Yang |
Warning: When resetting, you lose all skill points you have earned through Master levels (M2–M10) and Grand Master levels. You only get the normally distributed points back.
A common mistake: Over-skilling – allocating more than 17 skill points to a single skill. This blocks the transition to the next level. If Dash doesn't jump to Master level at 17 points, you should use a Skill Reallocation Document or the old woman. If it still doesn't jump after that, you can repeat the process with the old woman – this way you don't lose any skill points.
Using Dash Optimally: Practical Tips
Dash is one of the most versatile skills of the Body Warrior. Here are concrete recommendations from the community:
- Opener in Combat: Use Dash as your first skill to quickly close the distance to your opponent and stun him immediately. This gives you valuable seconds for follow-up skills like Triple Slash or Sword Tornado.
- PvP Usage: The brief stun interrupts enemy skill animations. This makes Dash particularly valuable against other players.
- Configure Quick Access: Map Dash to an easily accessible key (1–4 or F1–F4) or directly to a mouse button for maximum reaction time.
- Keep Mana in Mind: Since Dash causes mana costs, keep your mana resource management in mind – especially in longer dungeons or farming sessions.
- Combination with Battle Frenzy: Activate Battle Frenzy for increased attack speed and then use Dash – this combination maximises your burst damage on single targets.
Dash vs. Other Body Warrior Skills: Priority in Skill Allocation
As a Body Warrior, you face the decision of how to distribute your limited skill points. Dash mainly competes with Sword Aura (permanent attack buff) and Sword Tornado (area damage for group farming).
For solo combat and PvP, Dash is strong to prioritise because of the stun. For pure AoE farming (e.g. Metins or group dungeons), Sword Tornado may be more important. Since you only get one skill point per level, it makes sense to provide Dash with points early on to ensure the stun is reliably available.
If you're still unsure, you can perform a reset with the old woman at any time up to level 30 and adjust the distribution – as long as the Yang costs can be paid.
Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly does Dash do in Metin2?
Dash is a Body Warrior skill that extremely increases movement speed for a short time, performs a stun attack and causes damage in the process. It can be used for both mobility and crowd control.
From what level can I train Dash?
From level 5 onwards, you can complete the quest "The Training", choose your doctrine and distribute the first 4 skill points to Dash or other Body Warrior skills.
How many skill points do I need for Dash at Master level?
The skill must be raised to 17 points to trigger the transition to Master level. The transition is not guaranteed – if it doesn't happen, you should use a Skill Reallocation Document or the old woman.
What happens if I allocate more than 17 points to Dash?
This is called "over-skilling". Allocating more than 17 points to a skill blocks the promotion to Master level. In this case, you must reset your skills and redistribute them.
How do I reset Dash if I've skilled incorrectly?
Up to level 30, you can reset all skill points with the old woman in the game for Yang. Alternatively, there is a Skill Reallocation Document. Note: Master and Grand Master levels are lost in the process.
What does the skill reset cost at the old woman?
The price starts at 20,000 Yang at level 5 and increases by 2,000 Yang per level. At level 30, the reset costs 70,000 Yang.
How can I bypass the 24-hour wait time when reading skill books?
With an Exorcism Scroll, you can skip the 24-hour cooldown. This way, you can read the Dash skill book again immediately.
Is Dash also suitable for PvP?
Yes. The stun effect of Dash interrupts enemy skill animations and gives you a tactical advantage in PvP. Combined with other Body Warrior skills, Dash is a powerful opener in player-versus-player combat.
