What is Dash?
Dash is one of six class skills of the Body Warrior in Metin2. The skill combines two effects: It increases the character's movement speed briefly to extreme levels and simultaneously executes a stun attack with damage output. This makes Dash both an offensive skill and a tactical positioning tool. In both PvE and PvP, briefly stunning your target is a clear advantage.
As a Body Warrior, you select Dash from the pool of six class-specific skills of your discipline. You set your discipline through the quest "The Training" at level 5 – after that, the entire Body Warrior skill tree becomes available to you.
Dash in Context: The Body Warrior Skill Tree
The Body Warrior has the following six skills in his discipline. Dash takes a special role because it's one of the few skills that offers both stun and increased mobility:
| Skill | Primary Effect | Secondary Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Aura of the Sword | Attack value increases (based on level and STR) | Buff (Self) |
| Battle Frenzy | Movement & attack speed increases | Defence decreases from Master level onwards |
| Triple Strike | Triple blow in quick succession | Single target |
| Sword Whirlwind | Strong area damage | Whirlwind attack |
| Dash | Stun attack + Damage | Movement speed briefly increased to extreme levels |
| Will to Live | Frontal attack | – |
| Earthquake | Frontal attack | – |
Skill Points: How to Allocate Dash
You receive skill points starting at level 5 – the quest "The Training" grants you 4 starting points directly. From level 6 onwards, you get 1 additional point for each level gained. You distribute these points via the skills window across your class skills, including Dash.
Important: Once you've allocated at least one point to Dash, you can drag the skill onto the quickslot bar (keys 1–4 or F1–F4) or trigger it directly via right-click. Some skills, including Dash, can alternatively be bound to the left or right mouse button.
The more points you allocate to Dash, the stronger the skill's effect – higher damage values, stronger or extended stun duration, and the mana point costs change with the skill level. Each use of the skill costs mana points (mana), after which the skill recharges. The recharge time varies depending on the skill level.
Skill Books: Increasing Dash Beyond Level 17
To improve Dash beyond the normal skill points, skill books come into play. You can read all skill books on a 24-hour cooldown. The game shows you how much longer you have to wait if the cooldown is still active.
If you want to skip the waiting time, you need an Exorcism Scroll. This allows you to bypass the 24-hour cooldown and use the skill book immediately again. This is especially useful if you want to quickly level Dash to the maximum level.
Note: From the Master level (M2–M10) and Grand Master level onwards, additional effects appear. These higher levels are lost if you reset your skills through the old woman (more on that in the next section).
Resetting Skills: When Dash Needs to Be Reallocated
If you've set your points incorrectly or want to switch disciplines, you can reset all skill points until level 30 inclusive through the old woman in-game for a Yang fee. The costs are:
| Level | Cost (Yang) |
|---|---|
| 5 | 20,000 Yang |
| 6 | 22,000 Yang |
| 10 | 30,000 Yang |
| 20 | 50,000 Yang |
| 30 | 70,000 Yang |
Attention: When resetting, you lose all skill points earned through Master levels (M2–M10) and Grand Master levels. You only get back the normally allocated points.
A common mistake: Over-skilling – allocating more than 17 skill points to a single skill. This blocks the transition to the next level. If Dash doesn't jump to Master level at 17 points, you should use a Skill Redistribution Document or the old woman. If it still doesn't jump afterwards, you can repeat the process with the old woman directly – this way you don't lose any skill points.
Using Dash Optimally: Practical Tips
Dash is one of the most versatile skills of the Body Warrior. Here are concrete recommendations from the community:
- Combat opener: Use Dash as your first skill to quickly close the distance to your enemy and stun them immediately. This wins you valuable seconds for follow-up skills like Triple Strike or Sword Whirlwind.
- PvP usage: The brief stun interrupts enemy skill animations. This makes Dash particularly valuable against other players.
- Configure quickslots: Bind Dash to an easily accessible key (1–4 or F1–F4) or directly to a mouse button for maximum reaction time.
- Keep an eye on mana: Since Dash consumes mana, monitor your mana resource management – especially in longer dungeons or farming sessions.
- Combination with Battle Frenzy: Activate Battle Frenzy for increased attack speed and then use Dash – this combination maximises your burst damage on single targets.
Dash vs. Other Body Warrior Skills: Priority in Skill Allocation
As a Body Warrior, you face the decision of how to distribute your limited skill points. Dash mainly competes with Aura of the Sword (permanent attack buff) and Sword Whirlwind (area damage for group farming).
For single combat and PvP, Dash is strongly prioritisable due to the stun. For pure AoE farming (e.g. Metins or group dungeons), Sword Whirlwind may be more important. Since you only receive one skill point per level, it makes sense to supply Dash with points early so you can use the stun reliably.
If you're still uncertain, you can always perform a reset through the old woman until level 30 and adjust the distribution – as long as the Yang costs can be paid.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does Dash do exactly in Metin2?
Dash is a skill of the Body Warrior that briefly increases movement speed to extreme levels, executes a stun attack and deals damage in the process. It's usable for both mobility and crowd control.
From which level can I allocate Dash?
From level 5 onwards, you can complete the quest "The Training", select your discipline and allocate the first 4 skill points to Dash or other Body Warrior skills.
How many skill points do I need for Dash at Master level?
The skill must be brought to 17 points for the transition to Master level to be triggered. The transition is not guaranteed – if it doesn't trigger, you should use a Skill Redistribution Document or the old woman.
What happens if I allocate more than 17 points to Dash?
This is called "over-skilling". Allocating more than 17 points to a skill blocks the promotion to Master level. In this case, you must reset your skills and reallocate them.
How do I reset Dash if I've allocated skills incorrectly?
Until level 30, you can reset all skill points with the old woman in-game for Yang. Alternatively, there is a Skill Redistribution Document. Note: Master and Grand Master levels are lost in the process.
What does the skill reset cost at the old woman?
The price starts at 20,000 Yang at level 5 and increases by 2,000 Yang per level. At level 30, the reset costs 70,000 Yang.
How can I bypass the 24-hour wait when reading skill books?
With an Exorcism Scroll, you can skip the 24-hour cooldown. This allows you to read the Dash skill book immediately again.
Is Dash suitable for PvP as well?
Yes. The stun effect of Dash interrupts enemy skill animations and gives you a tactical advantage in PvP. Combined with other Body Warrior skills, Dash is a strong opener in player-versus-player combat.
