Battle Frenzy is one of six abilities available to the Body Warrior in Metin2. The skill increases your character's movement and attack speed. From Grandmaster level onwards, this power comes at the cost of reduced defence – those who max out Battle Frenzy play more aggressively, but also more vulnerably. This makes it one of the defining abilities for the offensive Body Warrior playstyle.
What is Battle Frenzy? – Quick Overview
Battle Frenzy belongs to the Body Warrior specialisation, one of two Warrior specialisations in Metin2. The Body Warrior path emphasises high damage and tempo, whilst the Mental Warrior path focuses on defence and endurance. Battle Frenzy embodies this philosophy: more speed, more pressure – at the cost of protection at higher levels.
In addition to Battle Frenzy, the Body Warrior has access to the following abilities:
- Aura of the Sword – Attack power increases variably based on level and STR allocation
- Three-Way Cut – Triple strike with the weapon in rapid succession
- Sword Whirl – Area damage through weapon rotation
- Dash – Stun attack with brief speed boost and damage effect
- Will to Live – Frontal attack
- Earthquake – Frontal attack
Battle Frenzy vs. Strong Body – Body vs. Mental
The direct counterpart to Battle Frenzy in the Mental Warrior build is Strong Body: This skill increases defence and reduces movement speed – from Grandmaster level onwards, the knockdown effect is removed. This demonstrates the fundamental difference between both specialisations clearly.
| Feature | Battle Frenzy (Body Warrior) | Strong Body (Mental Warrior) |
|---|---|---|
| Primary Effect | Movement & attack speed increases | Defence increases |
| Secondary Effect (from Grandmaster) | Defence decreases | No knockdown |
| Playstyle | Offensive, aggressive | Defensive, enduring |
| Typical Use | PvP pressure, fast farming | Survival, group play |
Skill System in Metin2 – Fundamentals for Battle Frenzy
To use Battle Frenzy effectively, you must understand Metin2's skill system. From level 5 onwards, you choose your specialisation via the "Training" quest and receive your first 4 skill points. After that, you gain one additional point per level gained. These points are distributed across the six abilities of your chosen specialisation.
Skills consume mana points when activated. The amount varies depending on the ability and skill level. After use, the skill recharges – the cooldown differs for each ability. A higher skill level typically means stronger effects, but usually also higher mana consumption.
Skills can be dragged onto the quick access bar at the bottom of your screen. They can be activated using keys 1–4 or F1–F4, by right-clicking the skill, or by binding mouse buttons.
Distributing Skill Points in Battle Frenzy Correctly
Central mechanic: You should invest a maximum of 17 points per skill before it "jumps" to the next level. Investing more than 17 points in a single skill before this jump is considered overskilling. This wastes valuable points and permanently weakens your character.
If a skill does not jump after 17 points, the wiki recommends using a Skill Book or a Skill Reset item. Skill books can be read in parallel, but have a 24-hour cooldown. Those wanting to skip the wait time can use an Exorcism Scroll.
| Ability | Recommended Points (max before reset) | Effect Type |
|---|---|---|
| Battle Frenzy | Up to 17 (then wait for level jump) | Speed (Buff) |
| Aura of the Sword | Up to 17 | Attack Power (Buff) |
| Three-Way Cut | By priority | Direct Damage |
| Sword Whirl | By priority | Area Damage |
| Dash | By priority | Stun + Damage |
Resetting Skills – If Battle Frenzy Was Allocated Incorrectly
If you've allocated Battle Frenzy or other skills incorrectly, there are two ways to reset:
- Old Woman (free up to level 30 on Yang basis): The Old Woman in-game allows you to reset all skill points up to and including level 30 for a Yang fee. You receive every skill point back – but lose points gained from Master levels (M2–M10). Any Grandmaster levels already achieved are also lost.
- Skill Reset (Item): Alternatively, a corresponding item is available for more flexible resetting.
The Yang costs at the Old Woman increase with level: At level 5, a reset costs 20,000 Yang, with each additional level raising the price by 2,000 Yang. So if you reset at level 20, you'll pay accordingly more.
Important: If the skill does not jump at 17 points after redistribution with the Old Woman, you can try again with her immediately – without losing a skill point. However, it is not guaranteed that the jump will occur at exactly 17 points.
Battle Frenzy Throughout the Game – When is the Skill Worth It?
Battle Frenzy reaches its potential wherever tempo is decisive. In PvE, increased attack speed means more hits per second, which directly boosts damage output. In PvP, higher movement speed allows you to put pressure on opponents, pursue them, or escape control.
The downside from Grandmaster level onwards – reduced defence – is especially noticeable in PvP. Those using Battle Frenzy at Grandmaster level or higher must either counter it through equipment or commit fully to the offensive strategy: attack as the best defence.
For farming Metins (the eponymous stones of the game), the skill is equally valuable: Faster movement means shorter distances between targets, noticeably improving efficiency per hour played.
Common Mistakes with the Battle Frenzy Skill
- Overskilling: Putting more than 17 points into Battle Frenzy before it jumps is the most common mistake. Always wait for the level jump or use a Skill Book.
- Wrong specialisation window: Battle Frenzy is only available to the Body Warrior specialisation. If you accidentally chose Mental Warrior, you must switch specialisations – which requires a complete skill reset.
- Missing the cheap reset after level 30: The affordable reset option from the Old Woman applies only up to and including level 30. After that, a Reset Item is required.
- Ignoring mana management: Battle Frenzy costs mana. If you want to keep the buff active, you must ensure adequate mana supply through potions or equipment.
Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly does Battle Frenzy do in Metin2?
Battle Frenzy increases the Body Warrior's movement and attack speed. From Grandmaster level onwards, the character's defence decreases as a counter-effect.
Which class has access to Battle Frenzy?
Battle Frenzy is exclusively available to the Body Warrior – one of two Warrior specialisations in Metin2. Mental Warriors have no access to this skill.
How many points should I invest in Battle Frenzy?
A maximum of 17 points before the skill jumps to the next level. Investing more points before this jump occurs is considered overskilling and wastes valuable skill points.
When do I get my first skill point for Battle Frenzy?
From level 5 onwards, skill points can be allocated. The "Training" quest unlocks your specialisation and grants an initial 4 skill points. Each subsequent level-up grants 1 additional point.
Can I reset Battle Frenzy if I allocated it incorrectly?
Yes. Up to level 30, the Old Woman in-game can reset all skill points for a Yang fee (starting price: 20,000 Yang at level 5, +2,000 Yang per level). Alternatively, a Skill Reset Item works at any time.
What happens to Master and Grandmaster points when resetting with the Old Woman?
You receive all regular skill points back, but lose those points gained from Master levels (M2 to M10) and Grandmaster levels. These bonuses are permanently lost upon reset.
How can I bypass the 24-hour wait for Skill Books?
Using an Exorcism Scroll allows you to skip the wait. Without this item, you must observe the 24-hour cooldown for reading Skill Books.
Is Battle Frenzy worth using without Grandmaster level?
Yes. At lower levels, you benefit from the speed increase without suffering the defence penalty. The skill is useful at all levels – the trade-off only kicks in at Grandmaster level.
