TL;DR: Combat Rush is the speed buff of the Body Warrior in Metin2. It increases movement and attack speed, but reduces defence from Grand Master level onwards – a clear offensive trade-off.

Combat Rush is one of the six skills of the Body Warrior in Metin2. The skill increases the character's movement and attack speed. From Grand Master level onwards, this power comes at the cost of reduced defence – those who use Combat Rush at maximum level play more aggressively, but also more vulnerably. This makes it one of the defining skills for the offensive Body Warrior playstyle.

What is Combat Rush? – Quick Overview

Combat Rush belongs to the Body Warrior discipline, one of the two specialisations of the Warrior class in Metin2. The Body Warrior discipline focuses on high damage and tempo, whilst the Mental Warrior discipline focuses on defence and endurance. Combat Rush embodies this philosophy: more speed, more pressure – at the cost of protection at high levels.

In addition to Combat Rush, the Body Warrior has the following other skills available:

Combat Rush vs. Strong Body – Body vs. Mental

The direct counterpart to Combat Rush in the Mental Warrior build is Strong Body: This skill increases defence and reduces movement speed – from Grand Master level onwards, knockdown is removed. This clearly demonstrates the fundamental difference between both disciplines.

Combat Rush vs. Strong Body – Comparison of Warrior Specialisations
Feature Combat Rush (Body Warrior) Strong Body (Mental Warrior)
Primary Effect Movement & Attack speed increases Defence increases
Secondary Effect (from Grand Master) Defence decreases No knockdown
Playstyle Offensive, aggressive Defensive, enduring
Typical Use PvP pressure, quick farming Survival, group play

Skill System in Metin2 – Basics for Combat Rush

To use Combat Rush effectively, you must understand Metin2's skill system. From level 5 onwards, you choose your discipline via the quest "The Training" and receive your first 4 skill points. After that, you get one additional point per level gained. These points are distributed among the six skills of the chosen discipline.

Skills consume mana points when used. The amount varies depending on the skill and skill level. After use, the skill recharges – the recharge time differs depending on the skill. A higher skill level means stronger effect, but usually also higher mana consumption.

Skills can be dragged onto the quick access bar at the bottom of the screen. Access is via keys 14 or F1F4, right-click on the skill, or by assigning mouse buttons.

Distributing Skill Points Correctly to Combat Rush

A key mechanism: You should invest a maximum of 17 points per skill before the skill "jumps" to the next level. Anyone who distributes more than 17 points to a single skill is considered overkilled. This wastes valuable points and weakens the character permanently.

If a skill does not jump after 17 points, the Wiki recommends using a Skill Book or a Skill Redistribution. Skill books can also be read in parallel, but on a 24-hour cycle. Those who want to skip the waiting time can use an Exorcism Scroll.

Skill Point Distribution for Body Warrior – Guidance Values
Skill Recommended Points (max. before reset) Effect Type
Combat Rush up to 17 (then wait for level jump) Speed (Buff)
Sword Aura up to 17 Attack Value (Buff)
Three-Way Cut according to priority Direct Damage
Sword Whirl according to priority Area Damage
Rush according to priority Stun + Damage

Resetting Skills – If Combat Rush Was Skilled Incorrectly

If you've distributed Combat Rush or other skills incorrectly, there are two ways to reset:

The Yang costs at the old woman increase with level: At level 5, the reset costs 20,000 Yang, each additional level increases the price by 2,000 Yang. So if you reset at level 20, you pay accordingly more.

Important: If the skill does not jump at 17 points after redistribution at the old woman, you can try again with her directly – without losing a skill point. However, it is not guaranteed that the jump will occur at exactly 17 points.

Combat Rush in Gameplay – When is the Skill Worth It?

Combat Rush unleashes its strength wherever tempo is decisive. In PvE, increased attack speed results in more strikes per second, which directly increases damage output. In PvP, the higher movement speed allows you to pressure opponents, pursue them, or escape control.

The downside from Grand Master level onwards – the reduced defence – is particularly noticeable in PvP. Those who use Combat Rush at Grand Master level or higher must either counter through equipment or fully commit to the offensive strategy: attack as the best defence.

For farming Metins (the stones that give the game its name), the skill is also valuable: faster movement means shorter distances between targets, which noticeably increases efficiency per hour of play.

Common Mistakes with Combat Rush Skill

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly does Combat Rush do in Metin2?

Combat Rush increases the movement and attack speed of the Body Warrior. From Grand Master level onwards, the character's defence decreases as a countereffect.

Which class is Combat Rush available for?

Combat Rush is exclusively available for the Body Warrior – one of the two specialisations of the Warrior class in Metin2. Mental Warriors have no access to this skill.

How many points should I invest in Combat Rush?

A maximum of 17 points before the skill jumps to the next level. Investing more points before this jump occurs is considered overkilling and wastes valuable skill points.

When do I get my first skill point for Combat Rush?

From level 5 onwards, skill points can be distributed. The quest "The Training" unlocks the discipline and initially gives 4 skill points. After that, you get 1 additional point per level gain.

Can I reset Combat Rush if I've skilled it incorrectly?

Yes. Up to level 30, the old woman in the game can reset all skill points for a Yang fee (starting price: 20,000 Yang at level 5, +2,000 Yang per level). Alternatively, a Skill Redistribution Item works at any time.

What happens to Master and Grand Master points when resetting at the old woman?

You get all regular skill points back, but lose those points acquired through Master levels (M2 to M10) and Grand Master levels. These bonuses are permanently lost upon reset.

How can I bypass the 24-hour waiting time for skill books?

An Exorcism Scroll allows you to skip the waiting time. Without this item, you must stick to the 24-hour cycle for reading skill books.

Is Combat Rush worth it without Grand Master level?

Yes. At lower levels, you benefit from the speed increase without suffering the defence penalty. The skill is useful at all levels – the trade-off only comes into play at Grand Master level.
