Metin2 Christmas Event – Complete Guide 2024

The Metin2 Christmas Event is an annual winter event that starts in December and comprises several parallel running sub-events. Access begins from Level 1, whilst some events have higher level requirements. In total, four different events await you: the classic Christmas Event, the Metin2 Advent Calendar, the Snowflakes Event and the Festive Okey Event. The concrete running times vary depending on the sub-event and year.

The Christmas Event is not a single event, but a package of several simultaneously active systems. Each sub-event has its own mechanics, its own level requirements and its own rewards. Those who play all events simultaneously get the most out of the Christmas season.

Important: For the Festive Okey Event, the event drop ends already one day before the official event end. Plan your farming accordingly early.

The Classic Christmas Event (from Level 1)

The core event of the Christmas season is accessible to all players from Level 1 – making it the most beginner-friendly of the four sub-events. The centrepiece is Father Christmas, who appears in-game and distributes items.

The key mechanic: Once the corresponding quest item is in your inventory, certain items can be dropped by monsters. This means that normal levelling and farming during the event automatically brings in event loot – without any extra effort.

Father Christmas also acts as a trade NPC: 5x of the event item can be exchanged once every 24 hours for a reward. You should never miss this daily trade – the 24-hour reset makes consistent daily logins particularly valuable.

Metin2 Advent Calendar (from Level 30)

The Advent Calendar is the event with the earliest deadline: it ends on 24 December at 23:59 CET, considerably before the other events. In addition to Level 30, you also need to have completed the Biologist Quest 1 – if you haven't completed this quest yet, you should do so before the event starts.

Access is via the Item Shop. There you can open one window of the Advent Calendar daily. Behind each window is an Advent chest with a random item that helps with further game progression.

Critical Note: A missed window cannot be opened later. If you skip a day, you permanently lose the chance to get that item. Daily login is particularly important for this event.

Snowflakes Event (from Level 60)

The Snowflakes Event is aimed at players with at least Level 60 and is the mechanically most complex of the Christmas sub-events. The core mechanic is the Snowflake Spell, which must first be obtained to enable event items to drop at all.

Armed with the Snowflake Spell, you can transform monsters into Snowmen, which then drop event loot. The collected drops are then exchanged for rewards via the Event UI.

A special feature of the Snowflake Spell: it grants your character additional buffs that make playing during the event more enjoyable and efficient. Which buffs are active is shown in the Event UI. This makes the Snowflake Spell a doubly useful tool – both for event progress and for everyday combat.

The Event UI is accessible via the corresponding key in-game or by clicking the "E" symbol next to the mini-map. There you can see all active events on all servers and channels.

Festive Okey Event (from Level 1)

The Festive Okey Event is based on the well-known Okey card game, one of the mini-games in Metin2. The connection to the Christmas Event: whilst the event is active, monsters drop special event items that automatically land in the Event UI – no need to pick them up manually.

The event ends on 25 December, but the event drop stops already one day before. This is a common pitfall: if you want to farm on 24 December, you're already out of luck. Plan your item farming by 23 December at the latest.

Since the Festive Okey Event is accessible from Level 1, it's also suitable for newcomers who haven't yet met the requirements for the Snowflakes or Advent Calendar events.

The Event UI: Your Control Centre

All Christmas Events run via the Event UI, which was introduced to the game with Update 19.1. It shows all active events on all servers and channels and enables direct access to the respective event interface by clicking on the event name.

The Event UI is accessible in two ways:

• Via the assigned hotkey (configurable in-game)
• Via the "E" symbol to the left of the mini-map

Especially for the Snowflakes Event, where drops land directly in the Event UI and are exchanged from there, regularly opening the interface is important. If you forget to do this, you may miss valuable trading opportunities.

Strategy: How to Get the Maximum from the Christmas Event

Since several sub-events run simultaneously, clear prioritisation is worthwhile:

• Advent Calendar first: It has the shortest running time (until 24 December) and no way to make up missed windows. Daily opening is mandatory.
• Farm Okey Event drops early: The drop ends one day before the official event end – so don't wait until the last day.
• Get the Snowflake Spell immediately: Without it, no event drops in the Snowflakes Event. If you're Level 60, you should get the spell first.
• Daily Father Christmas trade: The 5:1 trade with Father Christmas is limited to once daily – redeeming every day maximises your gain over the entire event duration.
