Normal Skill Books
Normal skill books are used to further develop master skills. A skill must have already reached master rank for this.
When reading a skill book, the attempt can succeed or fail. 20,000 experience points are required for a reading attempt. Additionally, there is a waiting period between reading attempts. A book can be read approximately once per day for a skill.
If the requirements are not met, the book will not be consumed. If the requirements are met, the book disappears after the reading attempt.
Tech levels for master skills
Successful reading increases the technology level of the respective master skill. The higher the master level, the more successful books are needed for the next progress.
This increases the effort as the skill develops further. Skill books are therefore primarily relevant for progress within the master levels.
Master Books
Master books are special books for master skills. They may differ from normal skill books, but do not replace soul stones and are not part of grandmaster skill development.
Soul Stones
Soul stones are used for grandmaster skills. They are separate from the normal skill book system.
Normal skill books affect master skills. Soul stones are used to further develop grandmaster skills towards perfect master. Attempts can fail in this process. Additionally, rank points play a role. Technology levels are not used with soul stones.
Combo Books
Combo books belong to the combo system. They do not improve normal skills, but instead increase the character's combo level.
There are three relevant combo books:
- Combo Mastery
- Combo Master Book
- High Combo Art
Despite the three book names, there are only two combo increases. The first is possible from level 30, the second from level 50. For these increases, it does not matter which of the combo books is used.
Combo books increase the combo level only within these fixed limits. They cannot expand the attack sequence indefinitely.
Pet Skill Books
Pet skill books belong to the pet system. They are not normal skill books and follow their own system.
Pets can learn skills from the appropriate development stage onwards. Pet skill books are used for this. Learning pet skills is what matters.
Boost Skill Book
The boost skill book is not part of the normal skill books for master skills. It is its own book type within the boost skill system.
This results in several separate book systems: normal skill books, master books, soul stones, combo books, pet skill books and boost skill books.
Where can you get books?
Books can come from different sources depending on their type. These include Metins, monsters, chests and certain crates.
The source should be distinguished by book type, as not every book type comes from every source. Normal skill books come from the context of Metins. Other book types have their own sources.
