Warships
Warships are built in the Shipyard and require Seafaring research. Unlike trade ships, they must be actively produced and incur ongoing upkeep costs in gold. Each ship type has a specific role in naval battle — from the robust front line to invisible reconnaissance.
The Shipyard is a separate building that requires Seafaring research. Each upgrade level significantly reduces warship construction time. Invest in the Shipyard before building a large fleet — at low levels production takes disproportionately long.
Ship Types in Detail
| Ship | Row | Attack | Defence | Special |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ram Ship | Front | Middels | Høy | Cheap, high HP, backbone of every fleet |
| Ballista Ship | Ranged | Høy | Lav | Range, main damage source at sea |
| Fire Ship | Front | Meget høy | Meget lav | Destroys itself, disposable weapon with devastating damage |
| Mortar Ship | Ranged | Høy | Lav | Specialised in port fortifications and blockade breaking |
| Submarine | Special | Middels | Middels | Invisible, bypasses blockades, ideal for reconnaissance |
Fleet Building
Recommended composition: 50% Ram Ships as a robust front line, 35% Ballista Ships for main damage and 15% Fire Ships or Submarines depending on purpose. Mortar Ships are specialists — only useful for sieges of well-fortified ports with high port levels.
Fleet size depends on your strategy. Purely defensive, 10 to 20 Ram Ships are enough to protect your trade routes. For offensive naval operations and blockades, you need 50 or more warships of various types. Coordinate your fleet actions with the alliance — joint naval operations are significantly more effective than going it alone.
Fire Ships deserve special mention: they cause enormous area damage but destroy themselves when attacking. Deploy them strategically against high-value target fleets — do not waste them on individual Ram Ships. In large naval battles, 10 Fire Ships can decide the outcome.
