On March 3rd, Swords of Legends Online will get its first major expansion – the Firestone Legacy! Experience multiple new classes, venture through an array of new zones, uncover more of the story through additional chapters, and much, much more!
All players will get a free upgrade from the 6 character slots currently available, with an additional 3 slots (one per new class) coming with the release of the Firestone Legacy.
The Fox Mage can be played as either a ranged caster class (DPS) or as a healer. Use the Thornsmash mastery to inflict damage to enemies or change to the Blossom Dream mastery and support your teammates with a variety of healing abilities!
On the character creation screen you’ll only be able to choose ‘Girl’ as the body type for this class. Alongside the regular settings available to the ‘Man’ and ‘Woman’ body types, you can also change a few settings which are exclusive to the Fox Mage, such as choosing the colour of your tail and ears, as well as fluffiness! And don’t worry, if you’d prefer not to play with those extra appendages, you can easily turn them off in the Mall with a simple click.
As a class-specific skill, the Fox Mage can transform itself into a small fox using ‘Spirit Fox Transformation’. While in this form, you can choose to sit on a teammate’s head (which gives them a buff), or use ‘Rolling Spirit Fox’ to roll in a forward direction. It’s not possible to attack or heal while in this form.
Crystal Warriors have the choice between the melee DPS Dragon’s Might mastery for cutting down enemies, or the tanky Stoneskin mastery.
The Crystal Warrior can only be played as a ‘Man’ body type with all the usual character customization settings currently available. Should you wish to play it as a different body type, scroll down to the Spirit Warrior – while this second warrior plays slightly differently, it uses the ‘Girl’ body type.
As a class-specific skill, the Crystal Warrior has the ‘Geomancy’ passive – using their special knowledge of the earth, they can always detect earth collectables on the map! This ability is a real must-have if you’re into gathering.
Our third new class is the Spirit Warrior. Like the Crystal Warrior, it’s playable as a melee DPS with the Spirit Blade mastery, or as a Tank using the Bodyguard mastery.
The Spirit Warrior is playable with the ‘Girl’ body type, though it does not have the Fox Mage’s ear and tail appendages.
As a class speciality, you possess the skill ‘Jade Moss Anvil’. This allows you to conjure up an anvil which you and your teammates can use to sharpen your gear. With the ‘Forge Equipment’ buff your gear does not incur a durability penalty for the next 2 minutes, even if you die!
A new body type is being added to the game in the form of the ‘Girl’. This body type can only be selected by the Fox Mage and Spirit Warrior classes, but future new classes will also include it as an option.
Generally, all the existing character customization options are available for this body type, and that includes the two community-requested skin tones that were added for the game’s release in 2021.
The Fox Mage can, in addition to all this, also customize their ears and tail. Choose the colour and tweak how they look to your liking!
You’ll find additional tattoos as well as colours in the ‘Appearance’-section of the shop as per usual.
Costumes and various other items for the Girl body type are separate to the Man/Woman items – so if an item so far had a separate purchase option for the Man/Woman cosmetic, it will also have an item specifically for the Girl body type that needs to be purchased for use. This does not apply to anything which has already been unlocked for all characters irrespective of body type or class, including mounts and weapon skins etc.
Please note that some special items, such as the Collector’s or Founder’s Edition cosmetics were automatically unlocked for the Girl body type already. The same applies to the ‘Song of the Long Summer’ costumes from the 2021 Summer Event!
Immortals that have reached the level of Student 1 can now continue their training and reach the next realm of cultivation!
Follow the unfolding story around Zhong Wuchi and Jiang Kanhua, discovering new zones and lore, and reach the level of Student 36. Take the cultivation test and pass through the ruins of the Qin Mausoleum once more to advance to Sage 1 – our new level cap in the Firestone Legacy.
The new classes have a unique starting experience and go through a different set of story chapters to the existing 6 classes. Overall, the time needed to reach Student 1 is drastically reduced in comparison to the release of the 6 original classes.
There is a unique prologue as well as 3 story chapters guiding you through alternate versions of existing zones (Lunar Crown Institute & Sea of Flowers) until you reach the level of Student 1. From then onwards, you can enjoy the same new story chapters as the existing 6 classes on your way to Sage 1!
As already mentioned, a variety of new story chapters will be added in March, alongside new Biographies to explore!
The Snowing Blossom Paradise contains the ‘Fangwu Island’ starting zone for the Fox Mages as well as the Warriors. It is also their unique class-specific zone within which they progress with special themed questlines.
The Lunar Crown Institute is a new zone within the Valley of a Hundred Grasses and is dedicated to the Fox Mage & Warrior classes’ levelling progress. It can be accessed through the world map (‘Map of the Five Sacred Mountains’), and of course be visited by the existing classes to experience the beautiful scenery!
The Sea of Flowers is a new zone within the Heavenly Ridge and is dedicated to the Fox Mage & Warrior classes’ levelling progress. It can be accessed through the world map (‘Map of the Five Sacred Mountains’), and of course be visited by the existing classes to experience the beautiful scenery!
The story of the World of Shenzhou continues with the Firestone Legacy through the Changfu Garden – the first new zone existing players will experience. It can be accessed through the world map (‘Map of the Five Sacred Mountains’) or from Jiangdu.
It contains the entry teleportal to the Rotting Grotto Dungeon.
Traverse the Changhe Mountain on Zhong Wuchi’s trail, as you continue to hunt down these perpetrators. It can be accessed from the world map (‘Map of the Five Sacred Mountains’).
It contains the entry teleportal to the Firestone Grave of Dreams dungeon, as well as the Tianmu Plain entrance, within which you’ll find the Heavenly Gate Labyrinth dungeon as well.
We’ve already been on a section of the Taihua Mountain in the past – on Blade Peak, where our exciting journey began in July 2021.
We return to it in the Firestone Legacy expansion with the addition of the Xiaoming Peak and Chixia’s House zones!
The Langquan Bridge: Cloudscape is likely the last of the new zones you’ll get to experience in our expansion. It can only be accessed through the world map (‘Map of the Five Sacred Mountains’) or the Tianmu Plain.
The Firestone Grave of Dreams is the first dungeon you’ll have to go through in the continuation of the story, and can be found in Changhe Mountain, close to the Changhe Altar.

A new season starts in all PvP-related activities – bringing with it reset rankings and new rewards! Check the Cultivation menu to go through the pre-requisite PvP tutorial, granting you the new tier of gear and get you ready to challenge other players!
Our second season for the Garden of Blades will begin on Thursday, March 10th, at 6 AM server time! Throw yourself into the ‘Starfire’ season and climb the ranks anew – alone or with your team!
In addition to the regular rewards per game won, you’ll also be able to unlock new themed rewards fitting the season – an exclusive title with animated background, an avatar and frame combination, as well as a unique themed vanity item – the ‘Purple Lotus Parasol’.
One new map is also being added to the rotation – the Astral Ravine! Can you navigate the new arena to help your team emerge victorious?
As with the 3v3 arena, a new Battle Squad season will also start off a week into Patch 2.0 – get your 3-player pre-made ready to battle against other teams to reach the top of the rankings!
In the ‘Starfire’ season you’ll be able to unlock the ‘Crystal Shards’ accolade as well as the unique ‘Sweet Dream’ emote, letting you show everyone what you achieved!
A new battleground is being added – Go in the Snow! In this special 10v10 Battle of the Continents – which is added next to the Realm of the Five Elements and Fort Haizhou – you’ll need brains and brawn, as you battle your foes simultaneously in the traditional board game Go, as well as in direct combat.
Killing other players will grant your team 100 points, so it’s important to keep your team alive and the enemy suppressed as much as possible.
At the same time, placing Go pieces of the same colour next to each other forms a line, and each line grants your team 1 point every 10 seconds. Keep forming more lines by placing Go pieces on the battleground. Simply stand on an empty space or an enemy’s piece for 2 seconds and claim that space for your side!
The Battle of the Continents is open daily from 10 AM until 1 AM the following day. Go in the snow is being added to the rotation, so it’ll become available on a regular basis with patch 2.0.
New Event – Break and Raid
A new activity has been added for alliances to take part in in the open world – the Break and Raid Event!
Every Thursday, Friday, Monday, and Tuesday, between 9:30 PM and 10:10 PM (server time), Fallen Comets will appear on open world maps.
The goal is to occupy as many Fallen Comets as possible as an alliance – should an alliance be able to occupy all 3 comets, the event ends immediately – if not, it will end after a maximum of 30 minutes and the victory goes to the alliance with the most comets under their control, or to the one having occupied comets for the longest.
Once under your control, a Fallen Comet will generate 5 fragments every 3 hours, which members of the alliance need to collect. Unclaimed fragments become free for everyone – so make sure to claim them when available!
To participate, alliances need to be members of one of the two factions.
The alliance island battle reward granted to the alliance leader will change from the Jade Sceptre to the Taiji Sceptre!
A large amount of class balancing is being applied with this expansion – for both the 6 existing classes as well as the 3 new additions. Head over to our separate news post HERE where we’ve revealed these ahead of time.
The Astral Essences, as well as any potential remaining experience points for this system, will be completely reset for all players. After patch 2.0, you will start with a couple of select Astral points, depending on your cultivation level.
New version targets have been created (and old ones reset). Check the respective entry in the Cultivation menu to get an overview of the new tasks as well as the new cosmetics to unlock!
New Game Mode: Flight to the Clouds
The Firestone Legacy brings with it a brand-new game mode for the Leisureland – the Flight to the Clouds! In short, this is a flying race between 5 players – simply queue up and see who’s the best!
There’s a total of 3 maps currently (or courses, if you want to think of them this way) – Weichuan Highlands, Zhongnan Foothills and the Shanghuai Grasslands. You and your challengers get assigned a course at random (all to the same one, of course) and are required to fly through specific checkpoints as you make your way around the course.
Flying through the normal nodes in the air will grant you a small flight speed buff and points, while checkpoints mark your progress, and special nodes can grant you a variety of buffs or skills to use, such as blinding other players, creating a teleportal and many other effects!
The Flight to the Clouds is available Fridays and Tuesdays from 11 AM until 1 AM the following morning.
The Leisureland levels of all players have been reset for the start of the new season. Within the new season, you’ll require 400 XP for each rank-up.
The rewards for reaching specific ranks have been updated – a new costume set has been added, and the title to be unlocked has been updated to ‘Youthful Cloudheart’ with a special animation!
As a general note: not all items or changes in the stores are mentioned, as this major switch comes with a lot of general ‘new starts’ in these stores. A lot of older items and currencies will become unusable with this patch, and can be exchanged at the Old Equipment Shop in Cloudrise (with the merchant called Diqi).
While existing soulforce relics remain available in the game, their strength gets reduced to 10% of the original effect once a character reaches the level of Sage 1.
New soulforce relics get added with the Firestone Legacy, which have different effects and need to be collected anew:
• Miasma Rain
• Armour-Piercing Light Beam
• Flame Rain
• Spiritual Dew
• Sacred Blackstone
• Ravenous Hydra
• Stone Rod Armour
• Ice Mirror Reflection
This trader will now offer you a starter PvP set of item level 180 – all you need is a little bit of gold (though only buy this if you finished the PvP Tutorial and are missing pieces).

The Captain’s Assistant is a feature that allows you to add custom notifications for you and your team while fighting enemies. It can be accessed by clicking on the button next to the DPS meter, just below the minimap:
With patch 2.0 an update is being released for this system, which allows for further fine-tuning of events. No worries though, existing files from the 1.0 client can still be imported.
• Added filters to quickly find the events related to specific expansions or recent modifications.
• Added exporting, importing, and sharing functions.
• Added the ‘progress’ classification, as it was previously impossible to clarify the progress made by leaders. This new classification is only used as the first level in display, export, import, or sharing, and does not affect other functions. It also provides a cut function which allows you to manually classify the bosses.
• Add a copy function for ‘Instance’, ‘Progress’, ‘Bosses’ and ‘Event’ classifications. Quickly copying the current content into other difficulties of the same instance is limited to the ones that have already been unlocked.
• The functions ‘End HP’, ‘Initial Release Time’, and ‘Monitoring Bar Priority’ make the timing values of the group assistance more usable and accurate.
• Fixed the issue where the boss event tip list showed incorrect skill cooldown data in rare cases.
• The Boss Event Prompt Menu has been increased from 1 to 8, and specific effects were added for each prompt.
• Added hint bubbles and corresponding effect options.
• Fixed the issue where, if you are the captain but you didn’t check the option ‘Allow to receive hint messages send by the captain’, you would not get reminders.
• Fixed the issue where the hint bubbles set for ‘after an event occurs’ would appear at the same time as ‘after the effect occurred’ and ‘just after the leader entered the combat’.
• Fix the issue where the first event of each boss was not being displayed.
• Added a {count} command to count how many times an event has occurred so far.
• Added 3 kinds of {pos} commands, which are used to set landmarks (absolute, relative, and character-position related).
• Added the ‘Prompts Database’ menu, which allows you to store 10 generic statements that you can define and save, as well as setting initialization statements for 4 categories of events. These 14 fields are pre-filled with default statements for convenient quick access.
• Increased the number of event hint pages from 6 to 10.
• Fixed the issue where deleting an event hint page would not conform to the description.
• The Captain’s Assistant and Event Monitor Tool will support saving information locally, so information will not be lost when going offline.
• The Captain’s Assistant file extension has changed, but older 1.x files can still be imported.
• Added the ‘Close All Hint Sound Effects’ option to the Captain’s Assistant settings. After checking it, all prompt sounds are muted until reverted.
• Added an option to detect disabled Captain’s Assistants. If a player is using the system but it’s disabled, you will not get a reminder/question of whether you want to enable it.
Immortals can discover and craft 29 newly added recipes! Of these recipes there are some which have interactive elements.

Jades & Talisman & Food
With the new level cap of Sage 1 the jades and talisman from the previous level cap of Student 1 will loose their effect. Student 1 buff food will, similar to Soulforces, reduce their effectivity down to 10% if used by a Sage 1 player.
Item Level 120 Gear
