What are Zodiac Weapons?

Zodiac Weapons are a weapon category in Metin2 that was introduced with patch 17.5 on 24th October 2017. They are intended for characters at Level 105 and above, making them part of the advanced endgame weapons in the game. The most important feature: Zodiac Weapons have DSS (Dragon Soul Stone Slots) and FKS (Fairy Queen Stone Slots) – two upgrade systems reserved only for high-tier weapons.

Another key point: Zodiac Weapons cannot be created by reforging or crafting from other weapons. If you want a Zodiac Weapon, you must obtain it through other means – whether through drops, events, or trading with other players.

Who Can Wield Zodiac Weapons?

Fundamentally, the Level 105 requirement applies. All classes in Metin2 can in principle wield Zodiac Weapons as long as they meet the level requirement and choose the weapon type that suits their class. The classes and their respective weapon types are:

• Warrior – uses class-specific Warrior weapons (Warrior Guide)
• Sura – uses class-specific Sura weapons (Sura Guide)
• Ninja – uses class-specific Ninja weapons (Ninja Guide)
• Shaman – uses class-specific Shaman weapons
• Lycanthrope – uses class-specific Lycanthrope weapons

The (magical) attack value of Zodiac Weapons varies depending on weapon type. Single-handed, two-handed, bow and other weapon types have different base values. This means: Two Zodiac Weapons of different types are not directly comparable by attack value.

DSS and FKS: The Upgrade Systems of Zodiac Weapons

Two systems make Zodiac Weapons particularly interesting for endgame players:

DSS – Dragon Soul Stone

DSS stands for the Dragon Soul Stone system. Zodiac Weapons have corresponding slots into which suitable DSS stones can be inserted. These stones grant the weapon additional bonuses that go beyond normal weapon stats. The DSS system is one of the most profound upgrade systems in Metin2 and allows for individual weapon specialisation.

FKS – Fairy Queen Stone

The Fairy Queen Stone (FKS) is another upgrade feature integrated into Zodiac Weapons. Here too, the slots offer the opportunity to further develop your weapon purposefully. The specific bonuses from FKS depend on the stones used.

The combination of DSS and FKS makes Zodiac Weapons one of the most flexible weapon systems for characters at Level 105 and beyond. Without these two systems, a Zodiac Weapon would already be powerful, but with fully upgraded DSS and FKS, the full potential emerges.

Why No Crafting from Other Weapons?

In Metin2, there are various upgrade paths for weapons. Many high-quality weapons can be upgraded or crafted from weaker weapons through forging or conversion. With Zodiac Weapons, this is explicitly not possible. They cannot be obtained as the end product of a crafting process from other weapons.

This has practical implications: You cannot simply upgrade a weaker Zodiac predecessor weapon to obtain one. Acquisition runs through other means – such as drops or player trading. This makes Zodiac Weapons coveted trading items on busy servers.

Zodiac Weapons in Class Comparison

Each class in Metin2 relies on its own weapon types. The attack value of a Zodiac Weapon depends on the weapon type – this means specifically that a two-handed Zodiac Weapon for the Warrior has different base values than a bow for the Ninja or a single-handed weapon for the Sura. A direct 1:1 comparison across classes is therefore not meaningful.

However, for all classes equally: The Zodiac Weapon is one of the strongest available weapons from Level 105 onwards and is aimed at players who are actively engaged in endgame. Those playing at this level and still lacking a Zodiac Weapon are leaving significant damage potential on the table – especially if DSS and FKS remain unused.

Using Zodiac Weapons Properly – Practical Tips

Those who have secured a Zodiac Weapon should keep the following points in mind to get the maximum out of it:

• Fill DSS slots: Don't leave the DSS slots empty. Even low-tier DSS stones are better than nothing. As you progress deeper into the game, investing in high-quality stones here becomes worthwhile.
• Use FKS: The same applies to the Fairy Queen Stone slot. Both systems together unlock the full value of the weapon.
• Choose type to suit your class: Make sure the weapon type suits your class and build. A two-handed weapon for a class that benefits from single-handed weapons is rarely optimal.
• Mind the trade value: Since Zodiac Weapons are not craftable, they have a stable trade value. Those with multiple weapons can market them well in player trading.
• Check level requirement: Only equippable from Level 105 – plan your progression accordingly so you don't buy the weapon too early and have to store it.
