What is the Horse Skill Chest?

The Horse Skill Chest is an item in Metin2 that contains books for horse abilities. The item exists in multiple language versions of the game (including Arabic, Czech, English, French, Hungarian and Romanian), which shows how central horses are to Metin2 gameplay. If you want to improve your horse deliberately, you'll need this item sooner or later.

The Horse in Metin2 – Basics

The horse in Metin2 is significantly faster than running on foot and is therefore one of the most important means of transport in the game. From Level 25 onwards, you can start the horse quest with the Stable Master. If you complete the quest and have enough gold, you'll have your own mount.

Reviving Your Horse – What to Do When Your Horse Dies?

The horse in Metin2 dies solely from starvation. A dead horse can, however, be revived. To revive it, you need a specific herb, which is dropped by Boss Apes in the Ape Dungeons:

• Easy Ape Dungeon (AD)
• Medium Ape Dungeon (AD)
• Hard Ape Dungeon (AD)

Which herb you need exactly depends on the horse type. You don't perform the revival yourself – you must go to the Stable Master with the appropriate herb, who will bring your horse back to life.

Horse Sugar – Cosmetics and Minor Bonus

Since the patch on 9 June 2009, there is the so-called Horse Sugar in the item shop for 49 Dragon Coins. Horse Sugar offers two benefits:

• You can give your horse a custom name for 30 days
• The defence value of the horse increases by 20 points

Horse Sugar is thus a small quality-of-life item with a slight stat bonus – not a game-changer, but a nice option for players who want to personalise their horse.
