TL;DR: The December 2018 Lottery is a limited-time Metin2 Item Shop event with daily free tickets from level 30. Tickets always guarantee a win – either an item or a lucky symbol.

The December 2018 Lottery is a seasonal Item Shop action event in Metin2, accessible exclusively in-game through the Item Shop. Every purchased or received ticket guarantees a win: either an item that automatically goes to your Item Shop storage, or a lucky symbol for the special win mechanic. Entry is available for all accounts – both below and from level 30, with different conditions for the free daily ticket.

Who can participate?

Basically, every account is eligible to participate. However, there are two ways to get the daily free ticket, which differ depending on level and quest progress:

This two-way structure makes the event inclusive – even new players below level 30 can fully participate, but must initially invest in tickets for a week.

How do I open the Lottery?

The Lottery can be opened exclusively in-game via the Item Shop. There is no external browser access or separate website. If you want to use the event UI, you can access it via the corresponding key or the "E" symbol to the left of the mini-map – all active events on all servers and channels are displayed there. Clicking on the event name opens the corresponding UI directly.

The Metin2 Event Systems overview lists the Lottery as an Item Shop action alongside the Advent Calendar – both are typical December activities in the game's annual calendar.

The Lottery Day: When does it start?

An important detail for planning: The Lottery day starts daily at 04:00 – not at midnight. This means: if you buy a ticket shortly after midnight, it counts towards the old day. Free tickets and daily limits reset at 04:00 in the morning.

If you ensure that you purchase at least one ticket daily before 04:00 (or during the day), you can build up your 7-day chain for the free ticket bonus without gaps.

Ticket Costs: How much does the Lottery cost?

Per day, you can purchase a certain number of tickets for DM (Diamonds). Additionally, there's a pre-purchase bonus: the first five tickets for the next day can be purchased one day earlier and at a slightly lower price.

After purchasing the first five tickets per day, a second batch of five additional tickets is available. This second round costs:

Ticket Costs: Second Daily Batch (5 Tickets)
Ticket Number Cost in DM
Ticket 6 39 DM
Ticket 7 45 DM
Ticket 8 51 DM
Ticket 9 69 DM
Ticket 10 69 DM

The exact costs of the first batch (Tickets 1–5) and the discounted pre-purchase prices can be viewed in the event UI itself once the Lottery is active. Generally speaking: the more tickets you buy on a single day, the higher the DM cost per ticket.

What can you win? Tickets and Lucky Symbols

Every ticket guarantees a win – that's the core mechanic of the Lottery. There are no blanks. The win falls into one of two categories:

In addition to ticket wins, there are also daily prizes that are awarded daily. Details about the specific items in the daily prizes and general ticket wins can be found directly in the Lottery UI in-game.

The Lucky Symbol Mechanic

Lucky symbols are the strategic core of the Lottery. Here's how it works:

The possible lucky symbol wins vary depending on the point total achieved. The exact prizes and point thresholds are visible in the Lottery UI in-game.

The Lottery in context: The Metin2 Event System

The Lottery belongs, according to the official Metin2 Wiki, to Item Shop actions – alongside the Advent Calendar. Item Shop actions differ from regular annual events such as the Christmas Event or Halloween Event: they run primarily through the Item Shop and usually require the use of premium currency (DM or DR).

The Event UI (introduced with Update 19.1) shows all active events on all servers and channels. For the Lottery itself, however, you must open the Item Shop directly – clicking through the Event UI takes you to the corresponding shop area.

Other seasonal systems in December include, for example, the Snowflake Event or the Advent Calendar – both systems that can be active parallel to the Lottery.

Practical tips for the Lottery

Frequently Asked Questions About the December 2018 Lottery

Do I need to be level 30 to participate in the Lottery?

No. Every account can participate. For the daily free ticket, level 30 plus the completed quest "The Biologist's Research (Orc Fang)" is required. If you don't meet this, you can buy one ticket per day for 7 consecutive days and from the 8th day also receive a daily free ticket.

Where do I open the Lottery in-game?

The Lottery is only accessible via the in-game Item Shop. There is no external web interface. The Event UI (key "E" or the E symbol to the left of the mini-map) shows active events and can serve as a jump point to the Shop.

When does a new Lottery day start?

A new Lottery day starts daily at 04:00 – not at midnight. The daily limit of purchasable tickets and the free ticket reset at this time.

Can I get tickets without Diamonds?

Yes. The daily free ticket is free if you meet the requirements (level 30 + Orc Fang quest or 7 consecutive days of buying one ticket each). Additional tickets beyond the free ticket cost DM.

What happens to my won items?

Items from the Lottery are automatically placed in your Item Shop storage. From there, they can be transferred to your inventory and used in-game.

What are lucky symbols and how do I use them?

Lucky symbols are special Lottery wins. Once you've collected three of them, you receive a prize based on their total point value. The prize must be claimed before you can draw new tickets. Alternatively, you can re-roll for 5 DR to get a different point combination.

How many times can I re-roll with lucky symbols?

Unlimited – each re-roll attempt costs 5 Dragon Rubies (DR). There is no set upper limit for roll attempts.

Can I buy tickets for the next day earlier?

Yes. The first five tickets for the next day can be purchased one day early and at a discounted price. This is worthwhile for players who want to use the full daily allowance every day.
