The Shaman — Healer and Mage

The Shaman (Şaman) is Metin2's healer and buffer — and one of the most rewarding classes for experienced players. His light robes offer the lowest physical defence of all classes, but in return provide outstanding magical bonuses and unique healing power values.

No other class is as sought-after in group content as a well-equipped Shaman. Healing, attack and defence buffs, group shields — the Shaman keeps a party going. In solo play, the Dragon Shaman turns to offensive spells to carve out solid farming efficiency.

Heal Shaman vs. Dragon Shaman — Armour Priorities

Heal Shaman — Support and Survival

The Heal Shaman is the backbone of any good dungeon group. His robe should be optimised for healing power and survivability:

  • Healing Power Bonus: Directly increases the effectiveness of all healing spells
  • Maximum Mana and Mana Regeneration: Healing costs Mana — a great deal of it
  • Intelligence (INT): Improves both healing and buff effectiveness
  • Magical Resistances: Survival in dungeon content
  • HP: Even the healer must be able to take a hit

Dragon Shaman — Damage and Efficiency

The Dragon Shaman converts healing magic into offensive dragon spells. Ideal for solo farming and as a damage dealer in groups:

  • Magical Attack: Directly affects dragon spell damage
  • Critical Spell Hit: Critical magic hits deal enormous damage
  • Casting Speed: More spells per unit of time
  • Intelligence (INT): Increases magical attack

Early Levels — Robe and Focus

In the early game, the Shaman needs to pay particularly close attention to his Mana supply. A robe with a Mana bonus is more valuable than raw defence — the Shaman should not be getting into melee range anyway. Work from a distance and make use of traps and area spells.

Midgame and Endgame

From Level 75, dungeons such as Nemere and Meley become the best source of high-quality Shaman robes. The Serpent Shaman Robe in the endgame is the ultimate goal — it combines maximum magical bonuses with strong resistance values and several alchemy slots.

Shaman Without a Tank — Robes in Solo Play

In solo play, the Shaman is considerably more demanding than the Warrior or Sura. Without a healer, the robe must fulfil two roles: enabling damage output whilst also ensuring survival. The following strategy helps:

  • Prioritise resistances more heavily than in the group build
  • HP bonuses on the robe significantly increase survivability
  • Use pets with survival skills as an additional buffer
  • Set traps before engaging to distribute incoming damage
