TL;DR: Quest books in Metin2 start a quest via right-click with EXP, Yang or items as rewards. There are 5 levels: Easy, Normal, Hard, Expert and Prince.

Quest books in Metin2 are items that you activate via right-click to start a quest. The reward consists of EXP, Yang and/or items – on average, you only get all three reward types simultaneously about every 8th to 9th time, usually it's two of them. You can only have one quest book quest active at a time – with one exception: A Yohara Quest Book is allowed as an additional second active mission.

How Quest Books Work

Quest books can be found through drops from monsters and metins or purchased via player trading. After activation via right-click on the book, a random quest from the respective difficulty level is assigned. The exact reward varies – the rewards mentioned in wikis and community guides are therefore examples, not guarantees.

Important for planning: Since only one active quest book quest is possible at a time, you should only activate your book when you have time to tackle the task directly. This prevents an easier quest from blocking a slot you could use for a higher level.

All 5 Difficulty Levels at a Glance

Quest Book Difficulty Levels: Enemy Levels and Areas
Level Enemy Level Areas
Easy 6 – 24 Map1
Normal 22 – 45 Map1, Map2, Orc Valley, Monkey Dungeon (easy & normal)
Hard 35 – 71 Orc Valley, Yongbi Desert, Hwang Temple, Mount Sohan, Demon Tower, Monkey Dungeon (hard), Spider Dungeon
Expert 65 – 72 Ghost Forest, Fire Land
Prince 90 – 120 Grotto, The Devil's Catacomb, 90s Maps, 100s Dungeons, Temple of Ochao, Cursed Forest

Easy Quest Book – For Beginners on Map1

Easy quest books are your entry into the quest system. All tasks play out exclusively on Map1, which makes navigation much easier. Enemies and metins have levels between 6 and 24. This level is ideal for new characters who want to generate additional EXP and Yang alongside regular levelling, without having to travel long distances.

Normal Quest Book – Early Dungeons Included

With normal quest books, the play field expands significantly. Enemies have levels between 22 and 45, and tasks take you to Map1, Map2, Orc Valley, as well as the easy and normal Monkey Dungeon. If you don't yet have experience with early dungeons, you should familiarise yourself with the entrances and layouts before activation to avoid wasting time.

Hard Quest Book – Dungeons and Desert

Hard quest books demand levels between 35 and 71 at the targets and send you to some of the most challenging mid-game areas in the game. These include Orc Valley, Yongbi Desert, Hwang Temple, Mount Sohan, Demon Tower, hard Monkey Dungeon and Spider Dungeon. For this level, solid equipment is recommended, as the enemy level range is very wide and you're facing areas with real resistance. Plan for sufficient healing items, especially for dungeon tasks.

Expert Quest Book – Ghost Forest and Fire Land

Expert books take you to two specific areas: Ghost Forest and Fire Land. Enemies there have levels between 65 and 72. This level is for characters who have already progressed through mid-game areas and want to deliberately farm EXP and Yang in the upper level ranges. The target selection is relatively compact compared to other levels, which simplifies planning.

Prince Quest Book – Endgame Content

Prince books are the most demanding level and are aimed at characters in endgame. Enemies have levels between 90 and 120. Quests take you to the Grotto, The Devil's Catacomb, the 90s Maps, the 100s Dungeons, the Temple of Ochao and the Cursed Forest. There is at least one subgroup (Prince 1), suggesting this level is further subdivided internally. For Prince quests, fully developed equipment and knowledge of the relevant endgame dungeons are prerequisites.
