What is the Leadership Skill in Metin2?
Leadership in Metin2 belongs to the so-called standard skills. This means it is not only available to one specific class, but can be learned and developed by any character – whether Warrior, Ninja, Shaman, Sura or Lycan. The skill is specifically aimed at players who take on the role of group leader in groups and want to actively strengthen their members.
Important to understand: Only the group leader needs to have levelled Leadership. Whether the other group members have developed this skill themselves is completely irrelevant for receiving the bonuses. It is therefore sufficient if one person in the group specifically invests in Leadership.
How Leadership Works – Ranks and Bonuses Overview
The core of the Leadership skill is assigning ranks to group members. Each rank gives the affected member a specific bonus. However, these bonuses only work if the member is in close proximity to the group leader. So if you are farming far away, you will not benefit from the rank bonus.
From level 5 of the skill onwards, the first rank can be assigned. With each further level, additional assignment options become available. Only at the highest level P (Perfect Master) is it possible to equip all seven possible group slots with a rank.
| Skill Level | Assignable Ranks | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 1–4 | 0 | No rank assignment possible |
| 5 | 1 | First rank unlocked |
| Master / Grand Master | Increasing gradually | One additional rank per level |
| P (Perfect Master) | 7 | All group slots can receive a rank |
Since Version 16.2: The Leader Benefits Too
An important change was introduced with game version 16.2: The group leader now receives the assigned bonuses partially for themselves as well. The system works so that all assigned bonuses with their respective percentage value are credited to the leader. This makes investing in Leadership doubly attractive – you strengthen your own group and benefit yourself at the same time.
In concrete terms, this means: The more ranks you assign and the higher the percentage values of the individual bonuses, the stronger your leader character becomes through your own skill.
Charisma and Inspiration: How to Boost Leadership Effects
The Leadership skill interacts with two other game mechanics that influence its effects:
Charisma (Group Leader)
The group leader themselves can use the attribute value Charisma to further boost the effects of Leadership for themselves. If you want to consistently invest in Leadership and permanently fulfil the leader role, you should plan Charisma as a relevant stat.
Inspiration (Group Members)
On the group members' side, there is also a way to amplify the effects received: The attribute value Inspiration increases the benefit a member gains from the rank assigned by the leader. This means: If you regularly play in groups and receive rank bonuses, you should keep Inspiration in mind as a stat.
| Attribute | Works for | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Charisma | Group Leader | Boosts the leader's own Leadership effects |
| Inspiration | Group Members | Amplifies the effect received from the rank assigned |
Leadership in Practice: Tips for Group Play
The Leadership skill only reaches its full potential under certain conditions. Keep the following points in mind during group play:
- Proximity is essential: Rank bonuses only work in close proximity to the group leader. Do not spread too far across the map, or you will lose the effects.
- Investing in Leadership early is worth it: Since the first rank is available from level 5 onwards, it is worth developing the skill early – even if you can only assign one rank initially.
- Member skill is irrelevant: You do not need to get your group members to learn Leadership themselves. Only the leader needs the skill.
- Aim for Perfect Master: If you act as a group leader permanently, you should raise Leadership to level P (Perfect Master) to supply all seven group slots.
- Use the leader bonus since 16.2: The self-bonus mechanic since version 16.2 makes Leadership stronger for your own leader character as well. Plan this into your build.
Leadership in the Context of Standard Skills
Leadership is not the only standard skill in Metin2. Besides class-specific skills, there are a number of other skills that are accessible across classes – including Combo, Riding Skills and Language Skills. Leadership holds a special position because it only works in a group context and does not provide a direct combat bonus for the character themselves, but is a support mechanic.
In the skill window, you will find Leadership under miscellaneous or standard skills. It does not occupy a slot in your class-specific skills and therefore does not compete with your core combat skills.

Frequently Asked Questions about Leadership
Can every class use the Leadership skill?
Yes. Leadership is a standard skill and is therefore available to all five classes in Metin2 – Warriors, Ninjas, Shamans, Suras and Lycans can all develop it.
Do group members need to have learned Leadership to receive the bonuses?
No. Only the group leader needs to have developed the Leadership skill. Whether other members know the skill or not has no impact on receiving the rank bonuses.
From which level can I assign the first rank?
The first rank can be assigned from level 5 of the Leadership skill. Before that, no rank assignment is possible.
How many ranks can I assign at most?
At the highest level P (Perfect Master), all seven possible group slots can be equipped with a rank.
Does the group leader themselves get a bonus from Leadership?
Yes, since game version 16.2. All assigned bonuses are credited to the leader with their respective percentage value. Additionally, Charisma can further boost the effects for the leader.
What does Inspiration do for group members?
Inspiration is an attribute that group members can increase themselves. It amplifies the effect they receive from the rank assigned by the leader.
Do group members need to stay close to the leader?
Yes. The rank bonuses from Leadership only work if the member is in close proximity to the group leader. Anyone fighting far away receives no bonus.
Can I reset the Leadership skill if I distributed points incorrectly?
Skills can be reset until level 30 at the Old Woman for Yang. The cost is 20,000 Yang at level 5 and increases by 2,000 Yang per level. Master levels (M2–M10) are lost in the process. Alternatively, there are Skill Reallocation Scrolls available.
