What is the Dragon Sapphire?
The Dragon Sapphire is a Dragon Stone in Metin2 and part of the Dragon Stone Alchemy system. It is one of six different Dragon Stone types – alongside Onyx, Diamond, Ruby, Jade and Garnet – and has its own effect on your character that differs from the other stones. Dragon Stones are not displayed in your normal inventory, but exclusively in the special Dragon Stone inventory. You can open this via the corresponding button in your inventory, in the chat bar or via a keyboard shortcut.
Dragon Stone Alchemy was introduced to the game with game version 13.3 on 26 February 2013. With version 19.0 on 22 January 2019, Mythic Alchemy was added, which represents the highest stone class. Most recently, on 26 July 2023, version 23.2 added Dragon Amethyst as an additional stone type.
The six classes of the Dragon Sapphire
Every Dragon Sapphire – like all Dragon Stones – goes through six classes. With each higher class, the number of possible bonuses that the stone can have increases. This means in concrete terms: A Raw Dragon Sapphire has fewer bonus slots than a Mythic Dragon Sapphire.
| Class | Name | Special Feature |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Raw Dragon Sapphire | Entry level, fewest bonus slots |
| 2 | Cut Dragon Sapphire | First improvement stage |
| 3 | Rare Dragon Sapphire | More bonuses available |
| 4 | Antique Dragon Sapphire | Advanced class |
| 5 | Legendary Dragon Sapphire | High number of bonus slots |
| 6 | Mythic Dragon Sapphire | Highest class, available since version 19.0 (2019) |
The three improvement levels explained
The Dragon Stone system operates on three independent levels. All three affect the strength of your stone, but in different ways:
- Class: Determines the maximum number of bonuses a stone can have. Higher class = more possible bonuses. Classes range from Raw to Mythic.
- Purity: Increases the effectiveness of the existing bonuses. A Sapphire with higher purity therefore provides stronger bonuses than the same stone with lower purity.
- Level: Another way to increase the effect of the stone. Level and Purity both affect the strength of the bonuses, but are independent of each other.
In plain terms: If you want a powerful Dragon Sapphire, you need to work on all three adjustment screws. A high class alone is not enough if Purity and Level remain low.
Collecting Dragon Stones: Daily Quest and other sources
The easiest and regular way to collect Dragon Stones is the daily Dragon Stone quest. This is available from character level 30 onwards. If you haven't reached level 30 yet, you must level up first before you can start with Dragon Stone Alchemy.
Dragon Stones and related materials such as Dragon Stone Shards also appear in various other game content. Specific drop rates or all sources are not listed in detail in the wiki – so keep the daily quest as a reliable foundation and combine it with other activities in the game.
Important to know: Dragon Stone Shards are a separate item in the Dragon Stone Alchemy category. They are not the same as finished Dragon Stones, but intermediate material on the way to complete stones.
Dragon Sapphire compared to other stone types
There are seven different Dragon Stone types that differ in their colour and their respective bonuses. The Dragon Sapphire has its own effect that differs from Ruby, Onyx, Diamond, Jade, Garnet and Amethyst. Which stone is suitable for your build depends on which bonuses you prioritise.
| Stone Type | In Game Since |
|---|---|
| Ruby | Version 13.3 (2013) |
| Sapphire | Version 13.3 (2013) |
| Onyx | Version 13.3 (2013) |
| Diamond | Version 13.3 (2013) |
| Jade | Version 13.3 (2013) |
| Garnet | Version 13.3 (2013) |
| Amethyst | Version 23.2 (July 2023) |
Practical tips for Dragon Stone Alchemy
A few direct hints for getting started and making progress in the system:
- Don't forget the daily quest: It is available from level 30 and regularly gives Dragon Stones. If you do it daily, you will collect significantly more materials over time than someone who ignores it.
- Open Dragon Stone inventory: Dragon Stones are not in your normal inventory. Open the Dragon Stone inventory separately to manage and improve your stones.
- Improve all three levels: Class, Purity and Level affect the stone differently. Maximising only one level is inefficient.
- Choose stone type to suit your build: Not every Dragon Sapphire is equally good for every character. Find out what bonuses the Sapphire specifically gives before you invest.
- Mythic Alchemy as a long-term goal: The Mythic class has been in the game since 2019 and is the current end point of the improvement scale. The path to it is long – plan accordingly.
