TL;DR: Dragon stone alchemy strengthens your character with bonuses from coloured stones (Ruby, Sapphire, Onyx, Jade, Diamond, Garnet, Amethyst). Stones are improved by class, purity and level.

What is Dragon Stone Alchemy?

Dragon stone alchemy is a dedicated system in Metin2 that directly strengthens your character through bonuses from variously coloured dragon stones. It was introduced in version 13.3 on 26 February 2013 and has been expanded multiple times since – most recently with the Dragon Amethyst in version 23.2 on 26 July 2023. Dragon stones are not displayed in your regular inventory but exclusively in a separate dragon stone inventory. You open this via a button in your inventory, the chat bar or a dedicated hotkey.

The Dragon Chest+ (Mixed) is one of the sources for dragon stones and shards. It provides a mixed colour selection of stones and is particularly interesting for players who want to farm or collect different stone types intentionally.

The Seven Dragon Stone Colours and Their Effects

There are a total of seven different types (colours) of dragon stones. Each colour has its own effect and strengthens different character values. Here is an overview of all stone types:

Dragon Stone Colours in Metin2 – Overview
Stone Colour Effect Area
RubyRedOffensive Bonuses (Attack)
SapphireBlueDefensive Bonuses (Defence)
OnyxBlackSpecial Character Values
JadeGreenCharacter Values
DiamondWhite/ClearCharacter Values
GarnetDark RedCharacter Values
AmethystPurpleNew since Version 23.2 (2023)

Note: The exact individual bonuses of the stone colours are not fully detailed in the official wiki. You can see the specific values in-game for each dragon stone.

Class, Purity and Level – The Three Enhancement Levels

Dragon stones can be improved on three different levels. Each level affects the stone differently:

Classes of Dragon Stones – Overview
Class Feature
RawBase stage, few bonus slots
PolishedFirst enhancement level
RareMore bonus slots
AntiqueSignificantly stronger than Rare
LegendaryHigh-quality bonus combination possible
MythicHighest class, since Version 19.0 (2019)

Mythic Alchemy – The Endgame of the System

With version 19.0 on 22 January 2019, Mythic Alchemy was introduced as the highest enhancement tier. Mythic stones are the strongest dragon stones in the game and represent the endgame goal for experienced alchemists. Those who want to venture into endgame content can hardly avoid Mythic stones. The path to them leads through gradually improving the class from Raw via Polished, Rare, Antique and Legendary up to Mythic.

Where Can I Get Dragon Stones and Shards?

Dragon stones are obtained through several routes in the game. An important source is the daily dragon stone quest, which is available to all characters from level 30 onwards. There are also dragon chests – including the Dragon Chest+ (Mixed), which provides a mixed colour selection.

Dragon stone shards and Dragon stone shards+ are further items that play a role in dragon stone alchemy. They are collected and can be used for the crafting or enhancement of stones. The "Arrival of Dragon Stone Shards" event was a temporary way to farm larger quantities of shards.

Dragon Chest+ (Mixed) – What's Inside?

The Dragon Chest+ (Mixed) is a special container that contains a mixed colour selection of dragon stones. It is therefore particularly useful when you need various stone colours and are not deliberately farming for a single colour. Since the system knows seven different stone colours, a mixed chest offers a good chance of receiving multiple stones at once.

For players who want to quickly build up their dragon stone inventory or fill in missing colours, the Dragon Chest+ (Mixed) is an efficient starting point. If you deliberately want to maximise a specific colour, you should look out for correspondingly coloured chests.

Tips for Getting Started with Dragon Stone Alchemy

Frequently Asked Questions About Dragon Stone Alchemy

From what level can I do the dragon stone quest?

The daily dragon stone quest is available from level 30 and is the easiest way to regularly obtain dragon stones.

How many dragon stone colours are there in Metin2?

There are seven different stone colours: Ruby, Sapphire, Onyx, Jade, Diamond, Garnet and Amethyst. Each colour has its own effect on character values.

What does the Dragon Chest+ (Mixed) offer compared to regular chests?

The mixed variant contains a mixed colour selection of dragon stones and is useful when you need multiple different stone colours at once. Single-colour chests are better if you want to deliberately maximise a specific colour.

What is the difference between class, purity and level?

Class determines how many bonuses a stone can have. Purity increases the strength of existing bonuses. Level also increases the stone's effect. All three values can be improved independently of each other.

What is Mythic Alchemy and when was it introduced?

Mythic Alchemy is the highest enhancement tier of dragon stone alchemy and was added to the game in version 19.0 on 22 January 2019. Mythic stones are the strongest available dragon stones.

Where can I see my dragon stones in the game?

Dragon stones are displayed exclusively in the separate dragon stone inventory. You open this via the button in your regular inventory, the chat bar or a dedicated hotkey. They do not appear in your regular inventory.

When was the Dragon Amethyst added?

Amethyst as the seventh dragon stone colour was introduced in version 23.2 on 26 July 2023.

What are dragon stone shards and what do I need them for?

Dragon stone shards and Dragon stone shards+ are items that are collected and used as part of dragon stone alchemy. They are an additional resource alongside the stones themselves and can be farmed through specific sources or events.
