What Is the Cavern of the Exiled?
The Cavern of the Exiled is one of the first instanced dungeons that new players encounter in Metin2. It plays an important role in early progression and is for many players their first introduction to the game's dungeon system. From Level 30 you can enter the Cavern — either alone or with up to two other players.
Lore-wise, it is a gloomy cave haunted by banished spirits and fallen warriors. The atmosphere grows increasingly dark and the monsters increasingly dangerous the deeper you venture. At the end a boss awaits, dropping valuable items upon defeat.
Gaining Access to the Cavern of the Exiled
To enter the Cavern of the Exiled you need a Cavern Ticket. You can obtain one in several ways:
- Drop from monsters in the relevant level range (Lv. 25–40)
- Reward for completing certain main quests
- Purchase from the Auction House from other players
- Occasionally as a login bonus or event reward
The ticket can be redeemed directly at the entrance to the Cavern. The instance is time-limited — you have 30 minutes to complete the dungeon.
Dungeon Layout
The Cavern of the Exiled consists of three areas that build upon one another, each more challenging than the last:
Area 1 — Outer Cave
Small groups of Exiled Spirits and Skeleton Warriors. These enemies are relatively weak and serve mainly to drop Yang and basic items. Clear this area quickly and conserve your potions.
Area 2 — Deep Cavern
Stronger Exiled and Guardian-type enemies. The first mini-bosses lurk here — they have considerably more HP and should be prioritised, as they drop the best items in this section.
Area 3 — Sanctuary of the Exiled Lord
The boss room. The Exiled Lord is significantly stronger than anything that came before. He attacks in waves and occasionally calls for reinforcements — kill the reinforcements first before continuing to attack the boss.
Boss Strategy
The Exiled Lord has an area-of-effect (AoE) attack that you can minimise by dodging. Never stand directly in front of him — use lateral positions for your attacks. Shamans heal from behind, Warriors tank from the front, and Ninjas and Sura deal DPS from the flanks.
Recommended Healing Potions
Bring at least 20–30 medium healing potions. For solo runs, plan on 40 or more. The boss deals more damage than your average open-world encounter.
