TL;DR: The Ritual of Blood is Metin2's annual late summer event from level 30 onwards. With collected souls, you spin the Soul Wheel on Map1 or at Cape Dragonfire – whoever invests 4,000 souls unlocks the Special Soul Wheel for one hour.

The Ritual of Blood is an annual late summer event in Metin2, which was first held in September 2019. From Level 30 onwards you can participate. The event revolves around collecting souls by killing monsters and then spinning the Blood Altar. The altar is located on Map1 as well as at Cape Dragonfire. Important to know: The soul drop ends one day before the official event end – plan your time accordingly.

What is the Ritual of Blood?

As summer draws to a close, powerful sacrificial altars appear in each of the three main cities and at Cape Dragonfire. The event is thematically aligned with this transition: Until Version 21.3 (2021), the sky turned blood red during the event – this visual element has since been removed from the game.

The event is one of the annual events in Metin2 and can be viewed in the Event UI under active events. You can access the Event UI via the assigned key or by clicking on the "E" to the left of the mini-map.

Collecting Souls: How Blood Sacrifice Works

Souls are the main currency of the event. You collect them by killing monsters – but only when a Blood Sacrifice is active. There are two different blood sacrifices that differ in their capacity.

Here's how you recognise if a blood sacrifice is active: The corresponding symbol of the active blood sacrifice appears in the top left of your game window. Additionally, the message "You have caught a soul." appears in the chat window as soon as a soul is successfully dropped.

Important Details about Soul Drop

The Soul Wheel: Normal and Special

At the Blood Altar you spin with your collected souls. One spin on the normal Soul Wheel costs 50 souls. The rewards vary depending on the spin.

Unlock the Special Soul Wheel

Once a total of 4,000 souls have been used on the Soul Wheel, the Special Soul Wheel is unlocked. Here are the most important points:

Soul Wheel Overview: Normal vs. Special Soul Wheel
Property Normal Soul Wheel Special Soul Wheel
Cost per Spin 50 Souls Souls (quantity varies)
Unlock Condition Always available 4,000 souls used in total
Availability after Unlock 1 Hour
Visual Signal Altar glows blood red

The Quest: Ritual of Blood

Right at the Blood Altar you can start the quest "Ritual of Blood". This quest can be repeated as often as you like and thus provides a permanent activity throughout the entire event duration.

Note: Which items for item improvement are accepted, you can find out directly in the game at the altar. Since these are random items, it's worth building up supplies before the event.

Tips & Common Mistakes with the Ritual of Blood

The event sounds simple, but there are some pitfalls that beginners and returning players keep falling into:

Classification: Ritual of Blood in the Event Calendar

The Ritual of Blood is one of the annual events in Metin2 and typically takes place in late summer. It fits into the regular event calendar alongside events such as the Blood Moon Event, the Halloween Event and the Christmas Event. A detailed overview of all current events can be found in the Event Systems article.

Unlike event dungeons such as Treasure Island or the Primordis Expedition, the Ritual of Blood is not an instanced dungeon but an open, world-based event on the main maps. This makes it accessible to players from level 30 onwards – without major entry barriers.
