TL;DR: Summon Lightning is a class skill in Metin2. From level 5 you invest skill points, increase the effect in stages and unlock boost and counter skills.

Summon Lightning (known locally as Blitz heraufbeschwören, Llamada Relámpago or Invocation de foudre) is one of the class skills in Metin2. You can train it from level 5 using skill points once you have chosen your discipline with the "Training" quest. The more points you invest, the stronger the skill becomes – and once you have mastered it, boost and counter skills unlock as further upgrade levels.

What is Summon Lightning?

In Metin2, each of the five classes has two disciplines, each with six special skills. Summon Lightning belongs to one of these disciplines and is therefore an integral part of your class build. The skill costs mana points when used and has a class-specific cooldown that changes depending on your skill level. As a general rule: the higher the skill level, the higher the effect of the skill.

The skill can be dragged onto the quick access bar and activated with the keys 14 or F1F4. Alternatively, you can right-click the skill in the skills window. Some skills can also be placed directly on the left or right mouse button.

Skill Points and Levelling Up

Skill points are the currency for your skill distribution. You receive them as follows:

You distribute these points in the skills window across your class skills – including Summon Lightning. Important: You can read all skill books on a 24-hour cycle to increase your skill. If you want to skip the waiting time, use an Exorcism Scroll.

Skill Points Overview by Level
Level Skill Points Received Special Feature
5 4 (one-time, quest) Choose discipline, begin skill distribution
6–X 1 per level Continuous progression

Boost and Counter Skills

Once a skill reaches master level (counter skill mastered), a boost skill unlocks. These two additional skill categories complement Summon Lightning directly:

You can also read both books on a 24-hour cycle. The master levels range from M2 to M10; the grand master level builds on this. If a skill doesn't jump to the next level at 17 points when skilling, you may be mis-skilled – more on this in the next section.

Resetting Skills – How It Works

A reset is needed if you want to try a new discipline or correct a skillings mistake. Mis-skilled means: You have invested more than 17 skill points on a skill. In this case, the skill will not advance correctly to the next level.

You can perform the reset at the Old Woman in the village – but only up to and including level 30 for a yang fee. Important: You get all skill points back, but lose the points gained through master levels (M2–M10) and grand master level.

Reset Costs at the Old Woman (Yang)
Level Reset Cost (Yang)
5 20,000 Yang
6 22,000 Yang
7 24,000 Yang
10 30,000 Yang
20 50,000 Yang
30 70,000 Yang

If the skill still doesn't jump to the next level at 17 points after resetting at the Old Woman, you can try the reset again directly – so you don't lose any skill points. However, it is not guaranteed that the jump at exactly 17 points will work. Alternatively, you have the Skill Redistribution Item (Skill Reset Document) available, which you can use regardless of level restrictions.

Using the Skills Window Correctly

The skills window in Metin2 is your central control centre for all skills. It shows you:

Tip: Assign Summon Lightning to a quick access key early on. Since the skill costs mana, pay attention to sufficient mana regeneration or appropriate potions when building your items.

Common Mistakes and How to Avoid Them

Especially beginners make some classic mistakes when skilling Summon Lightning:

Frequently Asked Questions about Summon Lightning

From what level can I learn Summon Lightning?

From level 5, as soon as you have chosen your discipline with the "Training" quest and received the first four skill points.

What happens if I put more than 17 points into Summon Lightning?

You are then mis-skilled. The skill will not advance correctly to the next level. You must perform a reset at the Old Woman (up to level 30) or use the Skill Redistribution Item.

What does a skill reset cost at the Old Woman?

The reset costs 20,000 yang at level 5 and increases by 2,000 yang per level. At level 30, the fee is 70,000 yang. A reset is only possible up to and including level 30.

What is the difference between Summon Lightning Boost and Counter?

The counter skill is mastered first and enables tactical counter attacks. The boost skill unlocks afterwards and increases the power of Summon Lightning beyond the standard level. Both are increased via separate skill books on a 24-hour cycle.

Can I skip the waiting time when reading skill books?

Yes, with an Exorcism Scroll you can bypass the 24-hour waiting time and read the next skill book immediately.

Do I lose my master level points during a reset?

Yes. When resetting at the Old Woman, you get all regular skill points back, but lose the points gained through master levels (M2–M10) and grand master level.

How do I activate Summon Lightning quickly in combat?

Drag the skill to the quick access bar. There you can activate it quickly with the keys 14 or F1F4. A right-click on the skill in the menu also works alternatively.

Can I reset Summon Lightning after level 30?

After level 30, resetting at the Old Woman is no longer possible. You then need the Skill Redistribution item (Skill Reset Document) to redistribute your points.
