Overview: The Trade Harbour in Ikariam
In the Trade Harbour you can buy trading ships, transport goods and set up trading routes. You can also see incoming fleets in the Trade Harbour as well as fleets being loaded and unloaded.
To transport goods, they must first be loaded in the Trade Harbour. The higher the Trade Harbour is expanded, the faster the loading process.
Trading Ships
Trading ships can be purchased for Gold in the Trade Harbour. Unlike warships, which are tied to a city, trading ships – provided they are not in use – can be deployed from any island. They are suitable for troop and material transport.
Each trading ship can transport a maximum of 500 goods. Ships can also be loaded with less, which gives them a speed bonus of up to 66.4 %.
Each player can buy a maximum of 180 trading ships. Since version 0.3.4, trading ships no longer increase the total score and do not participate in combat.
Trading Ships Costs
Each time a ship is purchased, the costs for the next ship increase. The first ship costs 480 Gold; ship 160 costs 1,515,160 Gold.

Expansion Levels and Loading Speed
With each expansion level of the Trade Harbour, the loading speed increases. At level 1 it is 30, at level 10 it is already 437 and at level 20 it reaches 1,565. At the highest listed level 48, the loading speed is 26,189.
