Metin2's fantasy setting
Metin2 is set in a fantasy world inspired by Asian mythology. Three kingdoms — Shinsoo, Chunjo and Jinno — are locked in perpetual conflict in a world being corrupted by mysterious Metin Stones. These stones spread darkness and give rise to the monsters that populate the game world.
The setting blends Far Eastern aesthetics with classic MMORPG gameplay. Temples, forests, icy mountain ranges, deserts and — with the Tyranny of Aamon update (November 2025) — the new Moonlight Valley: each zone has its own atmosphere rooted in the Asian fantasy foundation.
Five unique classes — all free
The classes of Metin2
- Warrior (Savaşçı): The classic melee fighter with sword and shield. Sturdy, straightforward and ideal for beginners. Two builds: Body Warrior (damage) and Mental Warrior (group buffer).
- Ninja: The versatile specialist. As a Bow Ninja, ranged DPS; as a Dagger Ninja, close-range burst damage. Harder to master but extremely rewarding.
- Sura: The magical melee fighter. Weapon Sura combines sword attacks with magic, while Armour Sura is defensive and excellent for PvP.
- Shaman (Şaman): Healer and buffer. The indispensable support for any serious group. Dragon Shaman deals damage, Healing Shaman keeps the party alive.
- Lycan: The newest class. A shapeshifter who switches between human and werewolf form. Close-range DPS with a unique mechanic.

Fantasy endgame — what comes after levelling up
Schlangentempel
Schlangentempel is the most coveted endgame zone. This is where Snake Sword, Snake Armour, Snake Fan and other Snake equipment pieces drop — some of the strongest items in the game. Farming Schlangentempel is risky and rewarding in equal measure.
Moonlight Weapons (Moonlight Valley)
With Tyranny of Aamon (November 2025), Moonlight Weapons were added as an alternative endgame weapon path. Crafted from materials found in Moonlight Valley, they offer a different progression route to the Snake equipment.
High-level dungeons
Jotun-Thrym (from level 110), Meley (from level 105) and Nemere (from level 90) are the most demanding instances. They require good gear and teamwork and reward players with rare drops.
Biolog Quest mastery
The Biolog Quests are a long-term project that never truly ends — each completed tier grants permanent bonuses and opens new quest lines. This is Metin2's most distinctive progression mechanic. Biolog Quests fully explained.
